MANY people know Christine McGuinness as the ex-wife of the famous comedian Paddy McGuinness.

The 34-year-old has had a successful career of her own as a model and TV star.

Who is Christine McGuinness?

Christine Martin was born near Blackpool on March 10, 1988.

She started her career when she won several beauty pageants as a teenager.

In 2007, Christine became Miss Commonwealth and modelled for Liverpool-based boutique Cricket in her bikini at the Liverpool Tennis Tournament shortly after.

At the age of 18, her career really took off when she was named Miss Commonwealth and also Miss Liverpool.

What TV shows has Christine McGuinness been in?

As well as her modelling work, Christine is a regular on TV and has appeared in a variety of reality shows.

Her most notable appearance was her stint on The Real Housewives of Cheshire which she departed in 2020 after two years on the show.

In December 2021, Christine returned to ITV to appear on Strictly The Real Monty, a charity show which sees stars get their kit off in the hopes of reminding people to get potentially life-saving cancer checks.

The following year she tested herself in The Games, a tough olympic-style competition for celebrities.

Christine also starred on Who Wants to be a Millionaire and All Stars Mr & Mrs in 2012 with her ex-husband Paddy.

She has also made a number of guest appearances on shows such as Loose Women and Steph's Packed Lunch.

In November, Christine has revealed that she was diagnosed as being "high up" on the autism spectrum, like her children.

A 2021 documentary – Paddy and Christine McGuinness: Our Family And Autism – followed the family's journey to understanding the condition in greater depth.

In January 2023, it was announced that she will now front her own factual film for the BBC.

Who is Christine McGuinness' ex-husband Paddy?

Comedian and presenter Paddy McGuinness hosts shows like Question of Sport and Top Gear.

He is also well known for being the host of Take Me Out, a dating show where his catchphrase is "no likey, no lighty".

Paddy, 14 years Christine's senior, rose to fame through his friendship with comedian Peter Kay.

The Take Me Out star featured in some of Peter Kay's big shows like Phoenix Nights which rocketed him to fame.

At the age of 19, Christine met Paddy, who she married in 2011.

However, after 11 years together the pair announced their separation through an Instagram post, after a family trip to Centre Parks.

Rumours of troubles in the relationship erupted when they went on separate holidays, with Paddy jetting to Portugal, while Christine “followed her heart” and went to Croatia.

She told The Sun: "I can’t deny right now is a very, very difficult time for us. I’m feeling really quite raw and all over the place.”

The couple have been honest about their relationship troubles for some time now and in 2022 they launched a podcast to discuss parenting children with disabilities called Table Talk with Paddy and Christine McGuinness.

How many children do Christine and Paddy McGuinness have?

Together they have three children, including a set of twins born in 2013.

Leo and Penelope, the twins, were diagnosed with being on the autism spectrum at the age of four.

This means they struggle with social interaction and communication skills.

The devoted mum made the revelation through a poem and reassured them that they were "totally unique and fantastically awesome" regardless.

Their other daughter Felicity was born in 2016, she too was diagnosed with the disorder.

In 2018, Paddy opened up about the difficulties of raising children with autism.

He broke down in tears during an emotional television interview as he revealed they "can't do normal things as a couple".

Speaking on John Bishop: In Conversation With…, Paddy said: "It’s very, very, very, very difficult, you know any parent with children with any kind of special needs is very difficult.

"Some days it’s a wonder how we’re still together, me and Christine, because you can’t sort of do the normal things that you would as a couple.
