IT'S THE news that fans of Taskmaster have been waiting for, the show is back for a 15th season.

The brand new series comes with another cohort of hilarious stars, all hoping to impress on Channel 4's award-winning show.

Who's in Taskmaster season 15?

Fourteen seasons of the popular comedy show has made winners out of Josh Widdecombe, Katherine Ryan and Dara Ó Briain.

But five more contestants have put their reputations into the hands of the Taskmaster in a bid to win Greg Davies' golden bonce.

Here's who competing in the 2023 series.

He became a regular panellist on the BBC's comedy news quiz Mock The Week in 2005 and remained with the show for four years.

Since then he has made many other television shows including Channel 4 sketch programme Tramadol Nights, Frankie Boyle's New World Order, and Frankie Boyle's Tour of Scotland.

He also tours the country performing stand up comedy.

Speaking about why he signed up to the show, Frankie told Channel 4: "I’ve got nothing to lose. I didn’t quite grasp the show at first because they asked me to do it years ago.

"I was a bit like, 'This is just people trying to bake a cake only using their elbows? What the f**k is going on?'

"But then I started watching it like, 'Oh, right. It’s a kind of play about humility'."

Jenny Eclair

Jenny Eclair is an English comedian, novelist and actress.

She was the first woman to win the Perrier Award at the Edinburgh festival, which she achieved in 1995.

She is also the author of several critically acclaimed novels including Inheritance, as well as her 2020 Sunday Times bestseller called Older And Wider – A Survivor's Guide To The Menopause.

She has had sold out tours in the UK and Australia during her career.

Her tour, Sixty! (FFS), was reviewed highly as she gave an inside scoop on what it means to turn 60.

Asked what she thought about the Taskmaster hosts, Jenny told Channel 4: "Absolutely adorable. It’s a much more interesting Ant and Dec. And I love Ant and Dec.

"I’ve worked with them a lot and they’re great.

"But they’re not a patch on Greg and Alex, are they?"

Kiell Smith-Bynoe

Kiell Smith-Bynoe is a British actor and writer, best known for his brilliant work in the BBC One sitcom Ghosts.

He also appeared in Stath Lets Flats (2018) and Enterprice (2017).

Kiell co-wrote and stars in Channel 4's Red Flag, which has received critical acclaim.

He appeared on the 2021 Christmas special of The Great British Sewing Bee but failed to win.

Asked why he signed up for Taskmaster, Kiell told Channel 4: "If I wasn’t asked within the next two years, I would have set fire to the Taskmaster house!

"I was desperate to do it. I don’t really love being myself on TV.

"I don’t think it’s my strong point – I’m an actor first and foremost, and I play characters – but this is one of the very few things that I really, really wanted to do."

Mae Martin

Mae Martin is an award-winning Canadian-born comedian, actor and screenwriter based in England.

They moved to the UK in 2011, quickly making a name for themselves on both sides of the Atlantic.

Their stand up show Dope made waves in Melbourne and Sydney comedy festivals before arriving in Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival.

They wrote and starred in the Netflix comedy series Feel Good, earning a Bafta nomination for Best Female Comedy Performance.

Mae told Channel 4: "I’ve seen every episode, and I’m a big fan of tasks in general. I like problem solving.

"I spend most of my time in Escape Rooms. I wish that my life was just people giving me specific tasks to do.

"I like having choice and free will taken out of my life so I’ve been trying to get on Taskmaster for years.

"Every year, I literally begged them."

Ivo Graham

Ivo Graham is an English stand-up comedian and comedy writer.

He started stand-up in 2009 and eight months later became the youngest ever winner of the prestigious So You Think You're Funny award for new acts at the Edinburgh Fringe.

He is a regular performer on the UK clubs and theatre circuit, becoming a hit with audiences of all ages.

In 2021 Ivo co-hosted travel show British As Folk, with fellow comedians Darren Harriott and Fern Brady, who appeared in season 14 of Taskmaster.

Speaking about his experience on Taskmaster, he told Channel 4: "It was so fun. So fun.

"I surprised a couple of people when I said I’d enjoyed the day you’re talking about, because the evidence seemed to suggest I hadn’t.

"I did find a lot of the tasks, and my failure to adapt to them, very stressful.

"I returned home every day, delighted with how fun and creative it had all been, and how I’d been taken care of, but with a lot of micro regrets about things I knew I could have done better."

Who hosts Taskmaster?

Greg Davies and Alex Horne return as co-hosts of Taskmaster.

They have both hosted the show since its first release in 2015.

Greg is the Taskmaster, with Alex as his assistant.

When is Taskmaster next on TV?

Taskmaster season 15 will kick off on Channel 4 on March 30, 2023, at 9pm.
