NINA Hossain is stepping out of the studio as she prepares to report on Queen Elizabeth's state funeral at Westminster Abbey.

Who is Nina Hossain?

Born 15 December 1973, Nina Hossain is a British journalist and presenter on ITV Lunchtime News and anchor on ITV News London.

She was born in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire,  to a Bangladeshi father and an English mother – her father, Tabarek Hossain migrated to Britain in the 1960s.

During her studies, she gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Central Lancashire, before becoming a reporter for BBC London News in 2001.

She then joined ITV Evening News in 2004 and has since presented on ITV London, News at Ten and the Weekend Bulletins.

She is also a Royal correspondent – where she presents the coverage of Royal weddings and Royal funerals.

On Monday, September 19, 2022, Nina Hossain will also be presenting the coverage of Queen Elizabeth's funeral – which will take place at Westminster Abbey.

What TV shows has she presented?

As well has forging a career in the world of news, Hossain has also presented a number of other TV shows.

In 2004, she was the word pronouncer for Series 1 of Hard Spell, a BBC One spelling competition for children – she later reprised this role in the one-off episode of spin-off Star Spell.

During April 2010, she was also a guest presenter for ITV Breakfast – where she stepped in to cover Lorraine Kelly.

Then, in June 2010, she replaced Katie Derham as a presenter of London Tonight, initially alongside Donal MacIntyre.

However, just a few months later in November, she became the sole presenter.

Nina continues to give a helping hand and occasionally relief presents when needed at ITV News at Ten.

Her other presenting roles include, ITV's Election Live coverage for the 2015, 2017 and 2019 elections, ITV series Exposure and On Assignment, and from March until June 2020 she presented the weekly coronavirus Q&A on ITV.

Is Nina Hossain married and does she have children?

In 2014, Nina and her husband, former editor of ITV's London Tonight, Stuart Thomas. walked down the aisle at Newark Castle, an idyllic 12th-century fortress.

The couple had been dating since 2005 and had been dating nearly a decade before they married.

The pair split their time between London and the Midlands, where Nina was born.

They share three children – sons Will, Nate and their daughter Clara.
