Who is Rose Knight in EastEnders and what happened to her? Everything we know
The name Rose Knight has been on everyone’s lips in EastEnders, with various residents concerned that patriarch and newcomer George (Colin Salmon) had a role to play in her disappearance.
George, who rocked up in Walford earlier this month with daughters Anna (Molly Rainford) and Gina (Francesca Henry) in tow, has been incredibly secretive when it comes to Rose, revealing only the bare minimum to those who ask about her.
Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), however, knows full well there is more to the tale than meets the eye, worried that the man her mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) is set to marry isn’t being a hundred percent truthful about his past.
The landlady set out to get answers, with George managing to cover his tracks by telling a tale of heartbreak, revealing that Rose walked out on him and his girls nine years ago and that he’s never quite got over it.
Knowing what it’s like to lose the love of one’s life, Linda was satisfied with his answers, but her suspicions were soon piqued when she overheard George in a conversation with Anna and Gina, who were discussing their mum.
Believing her soon-to-be stepfather might’ve had something to do with his wife’s disappearance, Linda confided in Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), who is set to partner up with George, revealing that she believes he murdered his wife.
Phil offered to look into it for her, getting Callum Highway (Tony Clay) to search the police database to see what it would turn up. Callum did as he was asked, finding no dirt on George.
Rose, however, was a different story.
The files were locked, with access firmly denied, with a senior detective later paying him a visit, ordering him to leave well enough alone where Rose Knight is concerned.

Callum, confused, relayed this information to Phil and Linda, who were both irate that George had lied to them, with Phil determined to get answers.
The truth is set to be revealed in upcoming episodes, with both Wednesday’s (June 21) and Thursday’s (June 22) offerings of the show withheld from iPlayer in order to allow audiences the opportunity to find out collectively.
But just who is Rose Knight? What’s more, what happened to her?
Well, those are the million dollar questions.
The fact that George, according to Anna and Gina, refuses to talk about their mum, coupled with his cageyness every time Linda raises the subject, suggests that he knows more about what happened to his former flame than he’s letting on.
The mother of all twists is on the way, that much is confirmed, with next week’s episodes seeing the Knight clan torn apart as the big secret is revealed.

Some viewers believe that Rose Knight is none other than Cindy Beale, who is set to return from the dead 25 years on since she was killed off and there are are a number of clues to suggest this could, in fact, be the case.
If there is truth to this theory, then how is Cindy actually alive? What’s more, why did she abandon her new family in the Knights almost a decade ago?
So many questions and theories, but you’ll just have to keep watching to find out what’s in store.
Ones to watch: Wednesday June 21 and Thursday June 22 at 7:30pm on BBC One.
