Zawe Ashton, 37, was born in the UK where she starred in theatrical productions, many of which were in London.
She eventually made her way to Hollywood, and was hired for several films.
Her most notable film credits include the horror film Velvet Buzzsaw (2019), Greta (2018), Nocturnal Animals (2016), Dreams of a Life (2011), and Blitz (2011).
She has also appeared in television shows including taking on the role as Vod in the British comedy Fresh Meat, Claire in the six-part BBC One and Netflix series Wanderlust, Journey Blue in Doctor Who, and Katherine in Not Safe For Work.
An actress, writer, poet, and producer, Ashton landed in a role in the upcoming 2023 film The Marvels where she plays the villain, Ael-Dan.
She made a splash at the 2022 BAFTAs, hand-in-hand with Tom Hiddleston.
The two have been romantically linked since they co-starred in the Broadway show Betrayal, in 2019.

However, the engagement rumors ramped up following their March 2022 BAFTAs red carpet event.
The rumors started after Ashton was seen wearing a diamond ring on her ring finger as the two walked the red carpet hand in hand.
According to Page Six, Hiddleston finally confirmed their engagement three months after officially proposing.
The actor told the Los Angeles Times, “I’m very happy,” in an interview published on June 14, 2022.
Ashton revealed her baby bump while attending the Red Carpet event to promote her new film, Mr. Malcolm’s List.

Zawe Ashton's mother, Victoria, is Ugandan, and her father, Paul Ahston, is English.
Her late grandfather, Paulo Muwango, formerly served as the Ugandan President and Prime Minister.
