What else has Jane Gurnett been in?

Born in Dorset on March 12, 1957, Jane has been working as an actress since the 1980s.

Her TV roles include Dangerfield, Drowning By Numbers, Doctors, The Royal and Crossroads, in which she played Kate Russell.

However she is probably best known for her role in Casualty as nurse Rachel Longworth, appearing from 1994 until 1996.

She joined Emmerdale in 2022, playing Rhona's mother.

In January 2023, The Sun revealed that Louise had become so popular on Emmerdale, she had renewed her contract.

The veteran TV star will now play Mary Goskirk at least until 2024.

Speaking about signing the contract, she told The Sun: “I’ve just signed for another year.

"So I’m definitely there until January 2024. In my head I’m thinking maybe a couple of years after that, maybe a three or four year stint.

"But there are people here who have been here 25 years going, ‘Yeah, I said that at the beginning.’ But who knows? They’re such a lovely bunch, who knows?”

Louise was fourth Doctor Who Tom Baker’s companion, Leela, in the sci-for series, in 1977.

She played the role for 40 episodes and she also appeared in cop drama Bergerac in the Eighties as leading lady Susan Young.
