Who Wants To Be A Millionaire host tells studio audience they let down player
Jeremy Clarkson told the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire audience that they 'let down' a contestant, after they left the ITV show with nothing.
The majority of the audience gave the wrong answer when contestant John used the Ask The Audience lifeline during Saturday night's episode (September 10).
The contestant subsequently went home with nothing after answering question five incorrectly – losing out on the dream million pound prize.

John was left gutted after realising that he had chosen the wrong answer, and host Jeremy wasted no time in winding up the audience, as he told them they had "let him and themselves down."
He said: "Oh that really is a rotten bit of luck.
"You've let him down audience, you've let yourselves down, you've let the country down."
John had been asked the question: "Which of these is a thick omelette made with fried onion and potatoes, popular in Spain?"
His answers were tortilla, churros, croquetas, and gazpacho.
However, the contestant was unsure of the answer and asked the audience to help him, with the majority answering "croquetas."
It is not the first time that a contestant on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire has lost out on a huge cash amount however, after choosing the Ask The Audience lifeline.
Another contestant had made their way through the questions to bank an eye-watering £60,000 during one episode of the show.
However, they decided to take a risk and gamble, in the hope of securing £125,000 in the bank.
Their gamble led to the contestant to use the Ask The Audience lifeline, but the answer the majority of the audience chose was wrong – leaving the contestant with just £1,000.
The shock was audible in the room too, after the audience gasped loudly when the correct answer was read out by host Jeremy, who said the moment was: "too awful for words."
