THE Apprentice 2023 is in full swing, with candidates being fired all the time.

But it has now been revealed that Reece Donnelly has sensationally quit the show midway through the series.

Why has Reece Donnelly left The Apprentice?

It has been revealed that theatre school boss Reece Donnelly has quit The Apprentice 2023.

The Glasgow-native had to leave the show because of "health reasons".

His exit will be show in tonight's episode (February 9, 2023) on BBC One at 9pm.

Due to the line-up being the biggest since 2017, producers won’t bring in a new candidate to replace Reece.

He isn't the first person to quit the show this series, as fellow candidate Shannon Martin quit because she was "constantly thinking" about her business at home.

She told the BBC the time: "The unknown is definitely not something I’m good at.

"The more I thought about it, the more I thought, ‘Am I in here for the right reasons? Do I really want a business partner? Is this what I want? Do I want my life to change?’"

What has Reece Donnelly said?

After quitting the show, Reece told the Daily Star: "I could not continue in The Apprentice due to being unable to complete the task in Dubai for health reasons."

Despite missing out on the £250K investment he is convinced his stint on the show was a success.

He said: "My goal of being on The Apprentice was to showcase that Scotland has amazing businesses and entrepreneurs. I really hope I’ve done that."

Reece added: "I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time on the show and I’m looking forward to watching my fellow candidates in the rest of the series.

"I’m so grateful for my time with Lord Sugar and the team."

What will Reece Donnelly do now?

Reece will now return to his job as director of the Theatre School of Scotland, in Glasgow.

He took time out of this role to be on The Apprentice.

Upon joining the 2023 series, he said at the time: "I hope you all enjoy the show as much as we laughed making it.

"As the first Scottish candidate in over 8 years, let’s do this Scotland."
