Armed cops swoop on man in Greenwich amid 'serious' incident | The Sun

ARMED police today swooped on a man in London as horrified locals reported hearing gun shots.

A serious incident has been declared by police in Greenwich, South London, with the air ambulance also scrambled.

Terrified locals reported hearing gun shots ring out but this has not been confirmed.

Dramatic pictures show specialist officers including armed police on Creek Road between Greenwich and Deptford.

Territorial Support Vans could also be seen racing towards a bridge on the road.

One resident said: "Creek road Greenwich #London Gun shots heard"

Another wrote: "Major incident in #Greenwich deptford creek road closed. Traffic backing up so avoid area."

The Met have not yet released a full statement confirming what has happened but said the road is closed.

They tweeted: "Serious incident on Creek Road between Greenwich Town Centre and Deptford. Road closed. Please avoid the area. More details to follow."
