Hammer had been hiding out in the Caymans after career-ruining sexual assault allegations were levied against him last year, and ensuing substance abuse issues that landed him in rehab for a number of months.

Though Hammer and Chambers separated in 2020 after he allegedly cheated on her at least twice, she characterized him as ‘My best friend.’

Asked whether she felt her husband had healed since his scandal and rehab stint, she paused and said ‘I think everyone is always going through a process.’
And if she thought his Hollywood career would ever get back on track, she said she was the wrong person to ask, but that all that mattered to her was how ‘amazing’ he was with their kids.
‘I’m probably the wrong person to ask that,’ she said, ‘All that matters is family and our kids.’
Hammer was reportedly staying with Chambers and their two kids, Harper, seven, and Ford, five, while in the Cayman islands.
As to any chance of rekindling their romance, Chambers only laughed.

Hammer’s life as thrown into disarray last year after a number of women claimed that he has been sexually abusive to them in the service of several of his alleged violent sexual kinks, which reportedly included rape and cannibalism fantasies.
Two women said he told them he wanted to remove their ribs, barbecue them and eat them, and one accused him of slicing the letter ‘A’ into one her thigh before sucking the blood out of her fresh wound.
After the accusations were made public, the actor was dropped by his agency, WME, and was subsequently let go from various film projects, including Paramount Plus series The Offer, Jennifer Lopez’s Shotgun Wedding, as well as the thriller Billion Dollar Spy.
He and Chambers had announced their split a few months before the allegations surfaced.
Hammer checked into a rehabilitation center to treat sex, drugs and alcohol problems, where he stayed from May through December 2021.

Earlier in July, his attorney denied that the disgraced star was working at the establishment, following a viral Tweet with another image that that showed his face on a pamphlet as concierge for the hotel
The rehab stint was reportedly funded by friend and fellow actor Downey Jr., who himself has dealt with and climbed back from career shattering substance abuse problems.
A source told Variety that Downey Jr. was providing ‘financial assistance until he [Hammer] gets back on his feet.’
The source also confirmed the rumors surrounding the viral photos that showed Hammer walking into the Morritt’s Resort office, despite his lawyer previously denying claims that he’d taken up a new career.
The shots were followed by photos of him taken inside of the office on another day, once again wearing a similar blue polo shirt while reportedly going over pricing for a unit with a couple of potential buyers.
TMZ reported at the time that during the pitch Hammer offered the potential buyers a timeshare for $2,020 per week or, ‘only about $21,000 for ten years of vacations.’

The since-deleted tweet’s caption read: ‘My friend’s parents went on vacation in the Cayman Islands and Armie Hammer was their concierge.’
The pamphlet included discount vouchers and advertised that Hammer would take guests to swim ‘with wild turtles’ and point them to the ‘best snorkeling and diving spots.’

The source told Variety Hammer was working the job because he was ‘broke.’
‘He is working at the resort and selling timeshares. He is working at a cubicle,’ the source said, ‘The reality is he’s totally broke, and is trying to fill the days and earn money to support his family.’
According to the source, Hammer, who is the great-grandson of oil tycoon Armand Hammer – who was worth an estimated $800 million at the time of his death – ‘is not on the family payroll’ and has been forced to work a regular job after his Hollywood downfall.
The insider also shared that Hammer previously managed an apartment complex in the Cayman Islands.
