Bill Gates shrugged off revelations about a 2010 fling with a Russian bridge player – and attempts by Jeffrey Epstein to ‘extort’ him – as he jetted into LA for a meeting with an award-winning screenwriter.

Gates, 67, was seen publicly for the first time since the affair emerged as he traveled by private jet to meet David Guggenheim.

The Microsoft billionaire’s trip to LA comes days after details emerged of his fling Mila Antonova – who’s nearly three decades his junior. Pedophile financier Epstein later tried to ‘leverage’ the relationship against Gates, the Wall Street Journal disclosed.

He was pictured arriving in LA on Tuesday to meet with Guggenheim – prompting speculation the pair are planning a new project. They previously worked together on Guggenheim’s three-part docuseries Inside Bill’s Brain: Decoding Bill Gates.

Gates, a self-confessed bridge buff, met Antonova around 2010, when she was in her 20s and he was around three decades her senior.

The couple played the card game together as Antonova held ambitions of launching an online bridge school.

She was introduced to Epstein three years later in 2013 by Gates’ scientific advisor, Boris Nikolic. Antonova sought Epstein’s financial backing for the bridge project but he did not invest.

A spokeswoman for the Microsoft billionaire said: ‘Epstein tried unsuccessfully to leverage a past relationship to threaten Mr. Gates’

Antonova said in 2010 that she ‘didn’t beat’ Gates at bridge but ‘tried to kick him with my leg’.

While the extent of their affair isn’t clear, Gates’ spokeswoman has acknowledged that ‘Epstein tried unsuccessfully to leverage a past relationship to threaten Mr. Gates’.

Epstein reportedly learned of the affair and alluded to it in an email to Gates in 2017 – hinting that he could expose it. Epstein wanted Gates to invest in a multi-billion dollar charitable fund and sent the email as he attempted to secure his backing.

Epstein had paid for Antonova to attend coding school and the email to Gates asked for the money – an immaterial amount to the two tycoons – to be reimbursed.

A spokeswoman for Gates said the money was never paid and added: ‘Mr. Gates never had any financial dealings with Epstein. As Bill has said before, it was a mistake to have ever met him.

‘Mr. Gates met with Epstein solely for philanthropic purposes. Having failed repeatedly to draw Mr. Gates beyond these matters, Epstein tried unsuccessfully to leverage a past relationship to threaten Mr. Gates.’

The billionaire tech mogul, who was married to Melinda Gates but has since divorced, was 55 at the time of the alleged affair. Antonova meanwhile was in her 20s

Gates’s love of the card game has been widely publicized. He is pictured playing an intense game at the North American Bridge Championships in the early 2000s

Antonova said: ‘I had no idea that [Epstein] was a criminal or had any ulterior motive. I just thought he was a successful businessman and wanted to help. I am disgusted with Epstein and what he did.’

A newly-unearth video reported by DailyMail.com on Monday shows Antonova interviewing a flirty Bill Gates at the National Bridge Tournament in Reno, Nevada in March 2010.

Antonova, who was 26 at the time, was quizzing Gates, then 54, for her website BridgeUnion.com, and had met him one year earlier at a tournament.

The video, made for Antonova’s website, shows Gates highly engaged, listening and smiling as Antonova asks questions in her heavy Russian accent.

When Antonova asked how to play the game, Gates suggested people ‘get online and find people’ and to play other bridge style games.

Antonova asked: ‘Do you think bridge helped you in your work?’

With a smirk, Gates replied: ‘It helps you think in very concrete ways. I played a lot of card games when I was young. Bridge is the king of all card games.’
