A man was arrested in relation to the horror violence and police recovered four guns, the force wrote on Twitter.
Miami Beach Police reported: "On Friday at 10:41 p.m., officers heard the sound of gunshots near 7 Street and Ocean Drive and found two males with gunshot wounds at 7 Street.
"Both males were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Unit.
"One of the males died at the hospital, and the other is listed in critical condition.
"Miami Beach Police have one male in custody, who is cooperating fully with the investigation, and were able to recover four firearms from the scene.
"MBPD has confirmed that this was an isolated incident."
Alleged witnesses of the shock attack shared their personal accounts of nightmare experience.
One person said: "Was very scary being so close to this scene. Ocean Drive panicked en masse."
Another recalled: "We were eating outside at Locust, when it all happened. People rushed the place and I took cover behind a table.
"Got up and we ordered new drinks and 5 minutes later same thing happened and we had to duck for cover again."
When asked why he decided to stay and get another round in, the witness admitted: "Probably not the most rational thing to do, but I guess we were in a state of chock."
A third commented on the police's thread: "I was with my wife and 10 y/o daughter around 13th St at the time and saw a swarm of people running down the middle of Ocean all the way up to where we were, apparently 6 blocks away. Surreal!"
