Boy, 17, charged with murder of woman ‘he knew’ after body found at her home | The Sun
A 17-YEAR-OLD boy has been charged with murdering a woman in her 50s who was known to him – after her body was found at her home.
The teen appeared before Brighton Magistrates' Court yesterday and has been remanded in custody to appear before Lewes Crown Court on Monday.
Cops rushed to the scene after a "report of concern" for a person at a property in Hollington Old Lane, St Leonards, at around 6:08pm on Wednesday, January 11.
But when police and paramedics arrived, a local woman in her 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.
The teenager cannot be named for legal reasons.
He was arrested at the scene and has now been charged with one count of murder.

The boy and the woman knew each other, and cops confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
At the hearing yesterday afternoon, the teen, wearing a grey tracksuit, spoke only to confirm his name.
Detective Inspector Alex Campbell from the Major Crime team said: "This a tragic case and our thoughts are with the victim's family.
"We ask, on their behalf, that their privacy is respected at what will be an extremely difficult time for them."

"This is a fast-moving investigation with a charge secured within 48 hours of us being called to the address.
"Our enquiries are still ongoing. A cordon is in place and police will remain at the scene for the coming days."
A Sussex Police spokesman said last night: "Officers responded to a report of concern for a person at a property in Hollington Old Lane, St Leonards, at about 6.08pm on Wednesday.
"A local woman, aged in her 50s, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene."
The 17-year-old boy was arrested at the scene and has subsequently now been charged with one count of murder."
