A BRIT tourist has reportedly died after being trapped in a burning caravan in Turkey with her boyfriend escaping alive.

The horror incident happened this morning in the port city of Bodrum, local media said.



The woman was reportedly staying in the caravan with her boyfriend when it caught alight.

The couple allegedly woke up after the blaze started but were unable to get to the door and open it.

As a result, the Brit remained trapped in the trailer and died in the early hours this morning.

Her Turkish boyfriend, who was not named, reportedly also suffered burns but somehow managed to escape.

A fire crew attended the scene and recovered the woman's dead body.

It has been taken to the morgue of the Mugla Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy.

According to local media, the fire was potentially caused by an electric heater.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
