British father dies during snorkelling trip with wife and daughter at Caribbean holiday isle of St Kitts after fellow tourist tries to save him with CPR

A British father has died while snorkelling on holiday with his family in St Kitts.

An autopsy is currently underway to determine the cause of death of the as-yet-unnamed British National.

Local press say he arrived in St Kitts on Monday 27 March aboard the P&O Britannia cruise ship.

He was part of a large group, holidaying with his wife and daughter on a 14 day trip from Barbados to Southampton. 

It is unclear whether he drowned or died of natural causes. 

The man was pulled from the water, where another tourist tried to perform CPR without success.

He was pronounced dead by the District Medical Officer.
