Dog owner charged after girl, 3, left with life changing injuries from Dobermann bite | The Sun

A DOG owner has been charged after her pet left a three year old girl with life changing injuries when it bit her as she walked home from a sweetshop.

The youngster was with her grandparents when Lisa-Marie Garner's Dobermann suddenly attacked her.

The toddler, who has not been named, suffered a 'significant wound' to her back and was immediately rushed to hospital in need of surgery.

Now, following the frightening incident in Havant, Hants, 45 year old Garner has been charged and will appear at court next month.

Garner, from Havant, was charged with being the owner or person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury.

The dobermann has been destroyed by police, Hampshire Constabulary revealed.

After the attack on August 8, one homeowner living near where it happened, said: "The girl was screaming before a neighbour came out and grabbed the dog and kicked it.

"It was horrible and a real shock for something like that to happen. It could have been worse.

“The grandparents are so upset and are blaming themselves. But it’s not their fault."

The little girl was said to be in good spirits at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, Hants, after an operation.
