Adorable moment family of RACCOONS have a pool party in California man’s backyard

• The Huntington Beach pool owners were delighted by the discovery capturing the unique scene on video 
• Jimmy Senna and Gina Williams were awoken by their dog who spotted the Racoon pool party at the start of Memorial Day weekend 

A family of racoons have been caught on camera hosting their own pool party in a California couple’s backyard. 

A video, taken by a delighted animal-loving couple in Huntington Beach, shows the wild animals merrily swimming around the pool at the start of the long Memorial Day weekend.

Jimmy Senna, said he and his partner Gina Williams were woken up by their dog, Hank, barking loudly and ‘going crazy’ at around 5.35am on Friday morning. 

When Senna got up to check what was disturbing the dog he noticed the unique scene.

‘I tried to calm Hank down and went back to bed, and then he went even crazier! Sena told KTLA. 

The video was taken by a delighted animal-loving couple in Huntington Beach 

‘I looked out back again and saw three raccoons all standing by the edge of the pool, and they were either playing or fighting.’

Moments later, he  recalled, one raccoon fell into the pool and the other two jumped in.

The raccoons stayed in the pool for around 20 minutes and ‘weren’t concerned about us watching at all’, he added. 

‘That was a first – never saw this in the 20-plus years I’ve lived here.’ 

Two of the animals eventually left, while the third remained for a further 45 minutes. 

‘We are true animal lovers’ Ms Williams told ABC 7, ‘so it was an ultimate moment for us, and entertainment at its best. It was a great way to start the morning. 

‘Look at this guy over here, he’s like, “Hey guys, I’m in the deep end,”‘ Williams can be heard saying on the recording. 

When the racoons finished with swimming they relaxed on the steps.

The couple said the pool had just been remodeled so their furry friends were actually the first ones to enjoy it. 

Despite their cute looks the California Department of Fish and Wildlife recommends people do not approach or feed raccoons. 

‘Raccoons can become aggressive when threatened, food conditioned, or habituated to humans’ their official advise states. 

‘Do not approach, confront, or try to handle it – Raccoons can bite or scratch if scared, startled, or feeling threatened.’
