Fourth man charged over ambush killing of Tony Mokbel associate
Homicide detectives have charged a fourth man in connection to the fatal shooting of a former associate of jailed drug kingpin Tony Mokbel in Melbourne’s south-east more than three years ago.
Mitat Rasimi was ambushed and shot dead just metres away from his home in Dandenong on March 3, 2019, over an alleged debt he owed the Comancheros.

Rasimi, who was driving his car at the time of the hit, was found unresponsive with a number of gunshot wounds by police after crashing into a pole on Dawn Avenue.
He had attended a meeting at a coffee shop frequented by members of the Albanian community on Lonsdale Street in Dandenong in the hours before being gunned down.
Police at the time said the alleged killers stalked the 51-year-old in a stolen orange Ford Ranger ute that they later attempted to torch on Mcmahens Road at Bangholme in Melbourne’s south-east.
The latest man to be charged in connection with the murder, a 34-year-old from Carrum Downs, was arrested by homicide detectives at his home on Tuesday morning.
He has been charged with assisting Rasimi’s alleged killers and is expected to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court from custody on Tuesday evening.
Comancheros president Mick Murray was arrested at his Lysterfield South home and charged with Rasimi’s murder in April.
Two other men, aged 27 and 29, are also charged with the murder. They have both been committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court next year.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said the investigation into the shooting remained ongoing.
