Grandmother, 69, caught Notting Hill revellers URINATING by front door
EXCLUSIVE: Moment disgusted grandmother, 69, caught dozens of Notting Hill Carnival revellers URINATING by her front door
- Susan Watts used a doorbell app to record 30 people urinating on her doorstep
- She said the area was awash with pools of urine and stank ‘like a filthy toilet’
- The two-day carnival last weekend attracted almost two million revellers
- The council told her it would cost £75 to jet wash as it is a ‘private area’
This is the moment a disgusted grandmother captured dozens of revellers at the Notting Hill Carnival urinating in the small courtyard by her front door.
Susan Watts was left fuming when she recorded at least 30 partygoers walk down her front steps leading to her housing association property in Notting Hill, west London, and urinate in her garden on her Ring Video Doorbell app.
The 69-year-old said the area was awash with pools of urine and stank ‘like a filthy toilet’ following the two-day event which attracted almost 2 million revellers.
The pensioner, who is partially sighted and suffers from several ailments, was so incensed that she sent a video compilation to her local authority, Westminster City Council, and housing association showing around 30 people urinating in her courtyard during the two-day carnival earlier this week.
Ms Watts cried: ‘There were actually even more than 30 people who used my courtyard as a toilet but if I had put them all in the video it would have been too long.
‘The way it was left is unhygienic, unsanitary and disgusting. I can’t even stand at the front of my house because of the stench of urine. It’s like being in a filthy toilet.’
After sending the video, Ms Watts asked her local authority and housing association to jet wash her courtyard only to be told that it would cost her £75 because it is considered a private area.

She moaned: ‘In the past, I’ve hired my own jet wash because this is not the first time this has happened but this year I can’t do it. I can’t believe that the council are making me pay to clean up a mess caused by people attending an event that they allow to take place.
‘I recently had an operation on my eye and have to keep away from toxic liquids otherwise I could be completely blind. I object to being asked for money to jet wash my courtyard after the council’s party goers used it as a toilet. These people should be ashamed of themselves.’
In the videos, people can clearly be seen walking down the steps to Ms Watts’ courtyard, often with cans of alcohol in their hands and finding a corner to urinate in.
Ms Watts has been living in her flat, which is located on the main carnival route, since 2008. Each time the event takes place she goes to stay with her family in Wales insisting that she is unable to tolerate the noise and crowds using her courtyard as a toilet.

She said: ‘I leave Notting Hill because of the nuisance caused by the carnival. I’m not rich enough to completely board the entrance to my property and each time I return, the courtyard always stinks because it’s been used as a toilet. This year I even found a used tampon.’
Ms Watts revealed that after previous complaints to the local authority fell on deaf ears, this year, her granddaughter installed a Video Doorbell to back her up her claims.
She said: ‘I’ve complained in the past but nobody listens so we decided to film what happens in my courtyard as evidence that something needs to be done.

‘I was in Wales while the carnival was going on and my family and I couldn’t believe the images we were seeing. It’s filthy behaviour and it’s not fair that the poor residents of Notting Hill are expected to pay towards the cleaning up.’
She added: ‘When I returned earlier this week, I was met by the usual stink of urine in my courtyard but at least I’ve now got images to prove what happened.
‘I’m hoping that next year, the Council will board up the entrance to my property so that it won’t be used as a toilet.’
Westminster City Council has been contacted for comment.
