Harry and William urged to ‘follow Anne’s example’ over rift for sake of family

Prince Harry and Prince William have warned to take a step out of Princess Anne's book in order to put the royal rift to one side, according to an expert.

The two royal brothers have remained distant since 2020 when the Sussexes chose to step back from their senior royal roles and move to the US.

Royal commentator Jane Moore said Anne's situation with her ex-husband may give the brothers "some much-needed perspective" over their disagreements.

Anne watched as her ex-husband, Captain Mark Phillips, walked his daughter, Stephanie, from his second marriage down the aisle on Saturday (July 9).

Bride Stephanie, 24, tied the knot with William Hosier at St Mary The Virgin Church in Tetbury, Gloucestershire.

Despite their tumultuous relationship the pair appeared a model of unity at his daughter's wedding, putting their differences aside they watched their daughter say 'I do'.

Also attending the wedding were her half- siblings Zara and Peter Phillips, and their partners Mike Tindall and Lindsay Wallace.

Writing for The Sun, Ms Moore said Harry and William should "take a leaf out" of her book and quash their problems.

Meghan and Harry's explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey then followed months of fallout between the two royal couples.

During the interview, the Duke of Sussex explained Kate had made her cry in the days leading up to her wedding over an issue with bridesmaid dresses.

An insider claimed that the fallout was over whether the bridesmaids should wear tights or not.

Ms Moore wrote: "If the Phillips clan can show unity after everything they’ve been through, surely a little squabble over bridesmaids’ tights can be resolved?"

According to Ms Moore, Anne met Mark Phillips in 1968, but when they met she was still "lovestruck" with Andrew Parker-Bowles.

Anne was banned from marrying Andrew Parker-Bowles, who later becomes Camilla's ex-husband, at the time because he was Catholic.

Ms Moore wrote: "So he went on to marry, you’ve guessed it, a young woman called Camilla, who ended up having an affair with Princess Anne’s brother, Charles, and is now our future Queen Consort.

"If all of the above played out on The Jeremy Kyle Show, there would be widespread castigation about declining morals that threaten the very fabric of society, blah, blah, blah".
