Here are the key points and revelations from Harry & Meghan:

Episode four

– Meghan said it was ‘really important’ for the King to walk her down the aisle at her wedding to Harry.

– Duchess recalled thinking about taking her own life, saying: ‘It was like, “All of this will stop if I am not here”.’

– Harry said it was ‘heartbreaking’ to see his brother’s communications office ‘copy’ the behaviour of their father’s by ‘trading’ stories with the press.

Episode five

– Meghan broke down in tears as she described receiving death threats online.

– Harry said it was his decision to step back as a working royal, not his wife’s.

– Harry claimed the timing of a meeting with senior royals at Sandringham about the couple’s future was deliberately arranged so Meghan could not attend. Harry said his brother began to ‘scream and shout’ at him during their meeting about moving abroad.

– Harry said he wrote to his father in January 2020 to say that he and his wife would be willing to relinquish their titles if the couple’s plan to move to Canada as working royals did not work out.

– The Duke and Duchess of Sussex claimed the institution ‘blocked’ Harry from seeing his grandmother, the Queen, after they decided to step back as senior royals.

Episode six

– Home video footage appeared to show the couple watching their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey before kissing.

– They claim they saw the interview differently to the world. Tyler Perry claimed they could have said much more.

– Other footage featured Harry holding up his phone to show Meghan a text from William and her reaction is to say ‘wow’ as she looks at its screen.

He claims the late Queen had informed him that her diary was wide open and invited both him and Meghan to stay at the estate.

Speaking to the camera in episode five, Harry added: ‘She knew that we were finding things hard. I’d spoken to her many times about it. She told me she had no plans for the week.

‘She said, “Well, why don’t you come up?” You can have tea, but why don’t you stay the night, you and Meghan?”’

But as the couple left Vancouver, they claim they received a message informing them that they were barred from seeing the monarch.

The Duchess of Sussex said: ‘So we were flying back from Vancouver straight to Heathrow and right as we’re getting on the plane, this urgent, urgent message comes through to H saying, “You are not allowed to see Her Majesty.”

‘“Make sure that your principle is aware he cannot go and see her. She’s busy. She has plans all week.”’

Harry said that he was surprised as that was ‘the opposite to what she had told me’ and decided to speak directly with his grandmother when they landed.

He added: ‘Once we were back in the UK, I rang her and said, “I’m now told that you’re busy.”

‘She goes, “Yes, I didn’t know I was busy. I’ve been told that I’m busy. I’ve been told that I’m busy all week.” I was like, “Wow.”’

Meghan added: ‘I remember looking at H. I mean, my gosh, this is when a family and a family business are in direct conflict.

‘Because they’re blocking you from seeing the Queen. But really what they’re doing is blocking a grandson from seeing his grandmother.’

Harry also denied claims that he had ‘blindsided’ his grandmother with when the couple announced their decision to step back from royal life on social media.

‘This idea that I supposedly blindsided my grandmother. This would never happen. I have so much respect for her,’ Harry said.

His wife added that the process had been a long time in the making added: ‘This has been ongoing for months upon months.

‘I mean, I think in some people’s minds, it was like me going, “Post”,’ she added.

Harry went onto claim that the late Queen quietly watched as he was left terrified after Prince William yelled at urgent exit talks she had called at Sandringham.

He said: ‘It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me, and my father say things that just simply weren’t true, and my grandmother, you know, quietly sit there, and sort of take it all in.’

The royal said the late monarch’s ‘ultimate mission, goal/responsibility is the institution’.

‘People around her are telling her, “By the way, that proposal, or these two doing X, Y, Z, is going to be seen as an attack on the institution.”

‘Then she’s gonna go on the advice that she’s given. It was really hard.’
