Prince Harry has responded after he was banned from wearing military uniform at events commemorating the Queen, including her state funeral.

Yesterday (September 12) it was announced that the Duke of Sussex would not be wearing uniform at any events, although Prince Andrew will be allowed to at one.

King Charles decided that only working royals would wear military uniforms at five events – the Service of Thanksgiving at St Giles’ Cathedral, the procession to Westminster Hall and service of prayer and reflection, the Vigil at Westminster Hall, the state funeral at Westminster Abbey and the Committal Service at St George’s Chapel Windsor.

Despite not being a working royal, Andrew will be in uniform at the final vigil in Westminster Hall as a special mark of respect to his mother.

Today (September 13) a spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex said: "[Prince Harry] will wear a morning suit throughout events honouring his grandmother.

"His decade of military service is not determined by the uniform he wears and we respectfully ask that focus remain on the life and legacy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II."
