Heartbreaking tribute to husband & 'best dad' hit by car & killed in horror crash – leaving three kids behind | The Sun
HEARTBREAKING tributes have been paid to a husband and dad who was hit and killed in a horror crash.
Steven Fowler, 44, was walking over a zebra crossing on February 14 when he was knocked down.
He was with his dad and his dog when the incident happened in Retford, Nottinghamshire.
Steven was taken to hospital in Sheffield but died two days later from his injuries.
He sadly leaves behind his wife of 23 years, Amanda, and three kids, Sam, 20, Lottie, 15, and Maisie, 12.
Amanda has today paid tribute to the "brilliant" dad.

She said: “Steven’s death has had a huge impact on the whole family.
“Even though he was a laid-back and very quiet man, our house feels so quiet and empty without him.
"He was the best dad and would always put his children first.”
The dad-of-three served in the Royal Air Force before becoming a security guard.

He then left his job to care for Amanda, who has cerebral palsy, full-time.
Amanda said: “It says a lot about him that he was willing to give up much of his own life and freedom in order to look after me.
“Now I am reliant on my parents and teenage children for help.”
Margaret Atkinson, 74, was driving the car which hit Steven.
She appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday where she was convicted of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving.
She was fined £734 and banned from driving for three years.
Police Constable Andrew Fawcett, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a tragic incident and my heart goes out to Amanda and the rest of Steven’s family and friends.
"They have behaved with dignity throughout the past year and I hope the finalisation of this case offers some closure for them.
“Steven’s family have been through an extremely upsetting ordeal and have requested that their privacy be respected.”
