Horrific violence on streets of UK as NINE people murdered in seven days of carnage | The Sun

NINE men were murdered over the last seven days during a spate of violence across the UK.

The victims, aged between 17 and 51, were either shot, stabbed or beaten.

Families across the country have been left inconsolable with grief as police launched murder investigations.

The spate of killings reflects a rising tide of violence , which is now returning to the levels recorded prior to lockdown.

The latest figures for the Office for National Statistics show an increase by 23 per cent on the previous year.

Abdullah Hassan

Abdullah died after being shot on a street in the Sheffield area.

South Yorkshire Police said Abdullah died shortly after officers found him on Callow Drive in Gleadless Valley at around 1.30am on Sunday.

A post-mortem examination found he died from a single gunshot wound. Police have launched a murder investigation.

A statement from Abdullah's family said his death had caused them "very deep sadness and hurt".

It read: "He was a massive pillar in our family and it is beyond painful to lose him in such tragic circumstances.

"There is only one way to describe him. He was one of a kind, inside and out.

"As a family, we kindly ask that we are given time to grieve this loss and we hope that justice will be secured for him swiftly."

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Det Chief Insp Philip Etheridge said extensive inquiries had been carried out and "those living locally will have seen an increased police presence".

He said confirming the cause of his death would "do little to ease the concerns and worries within the community".

However, he added that officers were "working tirelessly and meticulously" to investigate the man's death "and bring those responsible to justice".

John Hutchinson

Josh died hours after a reported attack by three men who broke into a flat in Scorton Avenue, Blackpool, on Monday.

Lancashire Police found the 44-year-old died from internal injuries.

David Bond, 33, of Oaklands Avenue, Netherton, Daniel Cunningham, 33, of Tarnbrook Drive in Blackpool, Lee Clarke, 33, of Greenall Court in Prescot and Darren McCabe, 47, of Warwick Road in Blackpool – have
been charged with murder.

Det Chief Insp Andy Fallows said: "Our thoughts are still very much with Mr Hutchinson's family at this very sad and difficult time and we are working tirelessly to get answers for his loved ones."

Guy Malbec

Guy was found with serious injuries on Monday, April 10 at around 1.44pm in a car park in Castle Street.

An investigation by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate was launched and the Crown Prosecution Service has now authorised charges of murder against three people.

Two of those charged are from Canterbury while the third is from Whitstable.

Gavin Houghton, 49, of Old Dover Road, Canterbury , Airidas Sakalauskas, 21, of Old Dover Road, Canterbury and Sobantu Sibanda, 27, of Albert Street, Whitstable, have been charged with murder.

Tyler McDermott

Tyler died on Friday afternoon after he was shot in the early hours of Thursday.

Police found Tyler after they were called out to Norman Road in North London.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John said: "These two arrests demonstrate the progress our investigation is making.

"However, there is still significant work to do to identify those involved in Tyler's murder.

"There were a large number of people in the area at the time of Tyler's murder and I am reiterating my appeal to anyone who was there, or who has information about this incident, to contact police immediately."

Thomas Bowers

Thomas was found in Auchinloch Street, Glasgow after police were called out to a disturbance in the area.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives have set up an online portal to encourage members of the public to submit information.

Chima Osuji

The emergency services were called out to Longshaw Road in Chingford, East London at around 9pm on April 10.

Cops raced to the along with the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance where they found, 17, with a stab wound.

Despite their best efforts and help from members of the public he died at the scene.

Chief Superintendent Simon Crick said: "This is a tragic incident and I am devastated that a young life has been lost as a result of knife crime.

"My thoughts are with the victim's family at this incredibly difficult time.

"Incidents such as this have a devastating impact on families , friends and our local communities.

"We have a dedicated team of detectives working on the investigation.

"They have been at the scene overnight and will remain there today as they carry out further enquiries.

"This work is being supported by additional local patrols who are there to respond to any concerns within the community.”

Knife victim

Bedfordshire Police were called out to the junction of Hitchin Road and Hucklesby Way at around 8.10pm on Friday evening.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital, but died shortly afterwards. Officers have appealed for information.

Det Insp Sam Khanna said: "Following an altercation in quite a busy area, the victim suffered fatal injuries which has resulted in him losing his life.

"The man's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers."

Teen stabbed in alleyway

An 18-year-old man was stabbed to death in alley way near Dartford town centre.

The man was found with stab wounds in an alleyway off Suffolk Road in Dartford at about 9pm on Friday.

Kent Police has asked for any witnesses, or motorists with dashcam footage, or anyone with any information to come forward.

Det Insp Ross Gurden, said: "We are working to establish the full circumstances and would like to speak to anyone who may have heard or seen anything suspicious.

"The area where the victim was assaulted was close to the town centre and there would have been pedestrians and vehicles in the area at the time.

"If you think you may be able to assist the investigation please don't hesitate to call us."

Teen died inside a shop

A 20-year-old man died inside a shop after he was stabbed in the street.

Police were called out to Norwood Road at around 6pm on Saturday

They found a male inside a shop suffering from stab injuries.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the male, believed to be aged 20, died at the scene.
