House collapses suddenly with urgent search for people trapped under the rubble as nearby residents are evacuated | The Sun

FIREFIGHTERS are searching through rubble after a house collapsed this afternoon, with investigators unsure if anyone was inside.

The building in Finsbury Park, North London, gave way just after midday, with several people evacuated from surrounding properties.

Dust filled the street as the rear part of the house fell away, with brickwork and wooden floorboard visible.

Most of the building's roof has fallen in, with only a steel support beam left standing.

Around 60 firefighters from the London Fire Brigade (LFB) are on the scene, while a video showed them shouting: "If there's a person trapped under the rubble, make a sound. We are listening out for you."

Five fire engines attended the scene to lead the search and evacuation efforts.
