A heartbroken husband has relived the horrifying moment his wife suffered a brain aneurysm just days after giving birth to their daughter.

Hayley had given birth to their youngest daughter Eden before she experienced headaches three days later and then a brain aneurysm six days later on February 22.

She is now being treated in the intensive care unit at Royal Hobart Hospital while her husband looks after their three children on his own.
Mr Milburn said the couple had dismissed the headaches as pregnancy related before the symptoms escalated.
‘She thought it was pregnancy related, but all of a sudden she had this full-on headache come on, she was screaming at the top of her lungs, saying how scared she was,’ he told The Mercury.
Mr Milburn described the moment his wife turned white and cold to the touch with her breathing becoming laboured.
His mother-in-law Robyn Mills works as a nurse and she was with the couple at the time and managed to calm her daughter down.
Mr Milburn phoned triple-0 and said he was glad his daughter Ava, 7, and son Reuben, 4, weren’t at home at the time over fears they would have been traumatised.
Ms Milburn has undergone six surgeries since the medical episode and remains heavily intubated in the intensive care unit.
Her condition has continued to spiral with her symptoms worsening on Thursday.
‘She had constant high temperatures, high blood-pressure and increased heart rates,’ Mr Milburn said.

‘Doctors and nurses couldn’t figure out what was going on – they suggested it was an infection.’
The heartbroken father has tried to keep his children calm throughout the ordeal and told them their mother is in hospital for a tummy ache.
He has two more weeks of paternity leave and another week of annual leave before he has to return to work.
Ms Milburn’s aunt Glenys Casboult has kickstarted a GoFundMe to raise money for the family.
‘The journey ahead will be long with ongoing rehabilitation when Hayley is eventually discharged,’ she wrote.
‘We have created this fundraiser to offer financial support to Hayley and her family through this hardest of times.
‘We wish more than anything that she is back to her usual bubbly self, home with her children and the love of her life in no time at all.’
