I was forced to watch as my dog was savaged to death by two huge 'pit bulls' outside my front door – I'm devastated | The Sun

A WOMAN has been left devastated after her dog was savaged to death by a pair of huge "pit bulls" outside her front door.

Nayara Gomez-Jaldin, 18, said that her beloved pet Rocky was attacked "without reason" by the beasts, which were not restrained by a lead.

The distraught dog owner took to Instagram to post a video, filmed by her neighbour, of the aftermath of the attack.

The clip shows a man in a dark hooded jacket pulling the muscular animals away from the scene of the attack by their collars.

He visibly struggles to hold them and they break free as he ushers them away.

After walking a few feet away, he lets them go and walks behind them as they run loose down the street.

Rocky, a chihuahua-Jack Russel cross, suffered punctures to both lungs and a broken spine, according to Nayara.

She told The Sun Online: "I tried to separate them. I called my dad and we were both fighting to get the dogs off [Rocky].

"I remember [the man] hitting his dogs.

"He told me to get some water and by the time I got back, my dog was on the floor and my dad was crying.

"My clothes were covered in [Rocky's] blood…my dad and I had cuts on our hands and wrists."

She added that she had reported the attack to the police as the vicious dogs' owner left the scene.

She described him as a black man in his 30s and said that she had seen him in the neighbourhood before and believed that he was local.

Nayara also claimed that both he and his dogs have been aggressive when she's seen them before.

The attack allegedly occurred in Camberwell, South London, at around 8.30pm on April 24.

They rushed Rocky to the vet but he had to be put to sleep in the early hours of the next morning to ease his suffering.

In the caption of her post she wrote: "Yesterday night my dog was killed.

"I was about to give my dog a walk…two dogs like pit bulls were outside without any type of lead.

"My poor dog was attacked without reason…I am devastated since I had to see him fight for his life."

She concluded her post by saying: "Please share so we can have justice."

Social media users left messages of sympathy in the comments.

One wrote: "This has made me so sad. Please keep us updated with what happens.

"Those poor dogs haven’t a chance with an owner who breeds them to be violent."

Another added: "I am so so sorry you went through this, as a dog owner I can only imagine how you’re feeling.
