Inside cheap party city in the shadow of an active VOLCANO where Brits flock in their thousands for boozy fun | The Sun

AT the foot of one of the world's most active volcanoes lies an Italian city where Brits flock in their thousands for boozy fun.

The ancient city of Catania on Sicily's east coast is a party town that holds a reputation for some of the cheapest cocktails on the Mediterranean coastline.

Despite being close to Mount Etna, the fiery cobblestone streets are filled with more than 500,000 revellers a year.

It has also become a Brit hotspot for its hot summer nights that allow for partying until the sun comes up.

The 17th-century downtown area is where the lively bar crawls happen.

Pictures show masses of glam women dancing the night away fuelled by rounds of affordable Aperol Spritz.

One of the most frequented stops, La Chiave, sells upmarket cocktails such as Negronis or Boulevardiers for a mere £4.
