Inside the UK's 'BIGGEST' Domino's which can serve more than EIGHTY customers – but it's hiding a secret | The Sun

THE UK’s ‘biggest’ Domino’s – which can seat more than 80 diners – rarely gets busy, according to its customers.

The store in Loose near Maidstone, Kent, is home to the pizza chain's largest dine-in area and even has its own party room.

But its customers say that despite its huge 82-seat capacity, the shop is “never particularly busy”.

Shirley Allison, who has lived round the corner from the takeaway for two years, said: “I didn’t know it was the biggest in the country.

“It’s never particularly busy. I’ve never seen it heaving anyway.

“I think there were about three people in front of us when we went in last time.”

Her husband Brian added that the pizzas from The Swan Pub across the road from the store are more popular because they’re cheaper and taste “just as good”.

He said: “It’s very expensive. We’ve only used it once before and that’s when they had a 50 per cent off offer.

“The pub next door does pizzas for half the price and they’re just as good.”

Another local, Adam Cassidy, said he has only ever seen the dining area used by children after school.

The 41-year-old TV producer, who moved to the village a few months ago, said: “If you come past after school time there’s usually a few kids in there.

“It’s nice for them to be able to get a pizza and sit down and share it. My daughters seem to like it.

“I guess that’s its appeal really – that it’s actually got a sit-in area, which is quite unusual.

“I think you’d be hard-pressed to find another Domino’s with a restaurant area in Europe. I’ve certainly never seen one before.

“But it’s pretty standard, other than that. You don’t get people queuing out the doors.”

Production supervisor Dan Toadr, who lives nearby, said it was the biggest Domino's he’d come across.

The 29-year-old said: “I’m working in the area so I’ve collected pizzas for my colleagues a few times.

“I’ve been to a few other Domino’s branches and this is definitely the biggest I’ve seen. It does seem particularly nice too.

“The food tastes great and the prices are good so I have no complaints.

“Plus, every Tuesday they have a half price order, where you buy one get one free. It’s a great deal.

“The customer service is good as well, the staff are always very friendly.

“Overall I’m very happy with it.”

It’s never particularly busy. I’ve never seen it heaving anyway.

Dad-of-one Stefan, 51, who did not want to give his surname, said he can’t understand why what seems to be the UK’s biggest Domino’s was built in a small village.

The teacher, from Loose, said: “I don’t know why they built such a big store in a small area like this.

“It would make more sense if it was in a city centre or something.

“There always seems to be the odd few customers, but never more than that. I've never seen a queue anyway.

“I’ve ordered from there a few times when I’m feeling lazy and can’t be bothered to cook but I’ve never sat in.

“I’m not bothered about the size of the restaurant really, as long as the pizza is the right size.”

Air traffic controller Phil Wickwar, 60, who had just treated his family to a meal at Domino’s, said he visits the store every now and again but it’s “too expensive” to dine-in regularly.

The dad-of-two said: “My son and daughter live up the road and I tend to pop into this store when I come down to visit them.

“It’s not cheap though – we’ve just spent £40 on a couple of pizzas, sides and drinks, and that was with the 50 per cent off offer.

“The food was good though.”

Phil’s daughter Fiona Manning, 24, a teaching assistant who lives in Loose, said it was a “random” place to build a restaurant with such a big dining area.

The mum-of-one added: “Whenever I’ve driven past it’s always empty and when you go in there’s never any queue.

“After school you get a few kids in there.

“It’s quite a random place to have the biggest Domino’s because you don’t get many people walking past.

“It should be in the town centre or something.”
