Inside the UK's 'WORST' McDonald's – it's rife with crime, staff are 'rude' and the food is 'vile' | The Sun

A MCDONALD'S branch hit by a "terrifying" early-morning raid has been condemned as one of the fast food giant's worst outlets.

The store in the Greater Manchester district of Harpuhey has been slammed online as a crime-plagued place where staff are also "rude" and the food "vile".

The dire opinions have been shared on consumer reviews website TripAdvisor.

They come as the McDonald's branch suffered its latest setback, with a man barging through the doors on Sunday at 4am – while early-morning customers were sitting inside eating.

He tried to steal money from the payment area before fleeing, the Manchester Evening News reported.

No staff nor customers were hurt but Greater Manchester Police have now opened an investigation and are appealing for information, including any dash cam or mobile phone footage witnesses might have captured.

Det Sgt Jonathan Barnett, from GMP’s City of Manchester division, said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the staff and diners involved and thankfully no one was injured.

“We need to locate the person responsible for this. We are hopeful that someone may have seen something or witnessed any unusual behaviour around the Rochdale Road area at the time."

That particular branch has already proved unpopular with visitors, according to a welter of TripAdvisor posts.

The latest contributor warns people: "Very rough and ready area – I know that isn't the fault of the staff and owner but please be on your guard if you come here."

A previous visitor complained of "missing food" and "unhelpful workers", adding: "I honestly will not be eating here again or ordering from here! Staff are also rude."

Another told of having to wait 25 minutes for their order, before finding "the food was so cold – only the apple pie was edible".

There was also a review suggesting "Every time I’ve been here the food is always cold" while also drawing attention to "the tables being dirty and rubbish on the floor",adding: "Very unpleasant to visit."

Another labelled the outlet "Vile", saying their "food was dry and stale" and their hash brown "rock hard".

Other major chains with UK outlets slated online include KFC and Wetherspoons.

The criticisms come as McDonald's nationwide announced three popular items were being removed from their menus.

But six new offerings will be up for grabs from this Wednesday onwards.

Plenty of options remain on the breakfast menu, with availability extended for an extra half-hour until 11am in recent years.
