Inside UK’s most popular pub with a waiting list of FOUR years – here’s why it’s such a big hit | The Sun
A BRITISH pub has the world's longest waiting list for Sunday lunch.
The award winning Bank Tavern, famed for its fluffy Yorkshire puddings and rose-hued beef, now has a four year waiting list for Sunday lunch.
The well known Bristol pub was found to have the world's longest waiting list after researchers scoured TikTok content and online reviews.
The pub, said by some to serve the best roast in the country, has just seven tables, with space for up to 40 diners.
Customers lucky enough to book a table at the John Street pub have an hour and 45 minutes to clear their plates.
Speaking in 2020, landlord Sam Gregory, who took over the pub in 2008, said: "We don't repeat the same menu and although we always have beef we also do pork, some vegetarian options and perhaps venison or poultry.
"We change the starters and desserts weekly so the menu is never the same.
"Most of it though is down to the herculean effort of our head chef and kitchen team."
The prestigious Observer Food Monthly Awards named the Bank Tavern's roast the best in Britain in 2019.
The pub, which was refurbished during lockdown, also topped the 2018 Bristol Good Food Awards.
