  • Totti and Ilary Blasi have been together for 20 years and married in 2005
  • The A-list power couple share three children together but have now split
  • The iconic Roma forward is rumoured to be having an affair with Noemi Bocchi

The legendary Italian footballer Francesco Totti and his TV presenter wife Ilary Blasi have split after 17 years of marriage amid rumours he is having an affair.

The Rome power couple, who have been branded Italy’s Posh and Becks, share three children together after first getting together in 2002.

But news of their separation has rocked Italy with claims the iconic footballer cheated on the presenter with Noemi Bocchi, a 34-year-old florist who is a huge Roma fan.

Rumours circulating online also suggest Blasi has been having an affair with an unnamed Italian businessman who she meets up with while filming Big Brother.

Totti, 45, played for Roma his entire 25-year career and enjoys a cult-like status in the Italian capital after notching up 250 goals, holding the record for most appearances and most goals for the club.

Blasi, a model turned presenter dubbed the Queen of Rome, has hosted the Italian version of Top of the Pops and Survivor and even voiced a character on The Simpsons.

Bocchi is less well known, a business and banking graduate from the LUMSA private university in Rome.

She is said to be separating from her own partner Mario Caucci, the owner of lower league Roman club Tivoli, with whom she shares two children.

Blasi released a statement announcing the end of their relationship last night, saying: ‘After 20 years together and three wonderful children, my marriage to Francesco is over.

‘However, the separation process will remain a private matter and I will not be making any further statements.

‘I invite everyone to avoid speculation and, above all, to respect the privacy of my family’.

The dramatic split comes after months of speculation surrounding the A-list pair, and they were forced to deny in February they were on the verge of a break-up

Totti is arguably the most iconic player in Roma’s history and holds the club record for appearances and goals

Totti added in his own statement to Ansa: ‘I tried to overcome the crisis of my marriage, but today I understand that the choice of separation, although painful, is unavoidable.

‘Everything I have said and done in recent months has been said and done to protect our children, who will always be the top priority in my life.

‘I will continue to be close to Ilary in raising our three wonderful children, always respecting my wife. I trust in the utmost respect for our privacy, especially for the serenity of our children.’

The dramatic split comes after months of speculation surrounding the A-list pair, and they were forced to deny in February they were on the verge of a break-up.

Totti lashed out at the ‘fake news’ and Blasi posted a video of their family enjoying a meal out together to quash the rumours.

The footballer married the former Miss Italia contestant in a high profile wedding in Rome in 2005 which was televised in Italy.

Totti had won his only Serie A championship a year before they met, and he would go on to help Italy win the World Cup in 2006.

They share a son, Cristian, born later that year, and two daughter Chanel, 15, and Isabel, six.

Cristian is now part of the Roma academy, hoping to follow his father’s footsteps, although Francesco had already made his debut at the club by his age.

In 2020, Totti revealed he nearly broke up with Blasi after she bought a hairless cat during lockdown.

He told former team-mate Christian Vieri on Instagram Live: ‘I was furious with my wife, she bought a hairless cat and called it Donna Paola.

‘It’s boiling. At night, it insists on sleeping inside our bed, next to our legs. She’s a very affectionate cat, but almost caused us to break up.

‘Ilary wanted a cat at all costs and I was adamant we shouldn’t. One day, she brought it home, because ultimately she makes all the decisions in this family.

‘We didn’t speak for days, but in the end, I fell in love with the cat too.’
