ITV’s Robert Peston has called the new Chancellor ‘Jeremy C***’ as he became the latest presenter to make the same on-air blunder.
The political editor, 62, made the slip-up while discussing a tumultuous Wednesday which saw the Home Secretary resign and reports of tears and tear-ups in the Commons over fracking.
The presenter of ITV’s Wednesday night politics show Peston was speaking about Jeremy Hunt’s planned cuts to public spending.
He said: ‘That means the hole in the public finances is bigger than it would have been, and Jeremy C***’s – Hunt’s – cuts will be more painful.’
The MP for South West Surrey has previously told broadcasters to ‘grow up’ and stop mistakenly mispronouncing his surname as an extremely offensive word.

And social media was quick to comment on the former business editor’s mistake.
One Twitter user said: ‘Another broadcaster manages to say “Jeremy C***” on air.’
Another asked: ‘How does this keep happening?’
‘I’m beginning to suspect that these news readers are doing it on purpose,’ a third added.
Several high-profile presenters and politicians have made the mistake including Victoria Derbyshire, James Naughtie, Nicky Campbell and Harriet Harman.
Mr Hunt told the Daily Telegraph that broadcasters should ‘grow up’ and stop it. He said: ‘I’m used to it. I had this when I was at school.
‘Personally I think people should just grow up and get over the fact that my last name rhymes with a rather unpleasant word.’

It comes after a Channel 4 News anchor issued a grovelling apology after he was filmed referring to Tory minister Steve Baker as a ‘c**t’.
Krishnan Guru-Murthy had a ‘robust’ interview with the Minister for Northern Ireland on Wednesday about Suella Braverman’s decision to step down as Home Secretary.
After the interview, the live feed switched to Prime Minister Liz Truss’s Downing Street home.
Guru-Murthy believed he was no longer on air, but his comments were picked up by other livestream broadcasts nearby.
In the footage, the presenter said: ‘It wasn’t a stupid question, Steve, you know it. I’m very happy to go up against you on [PM Liz] Truss any day. What a c**t.’

Mr Baker told Times Radio it was an ‘unfortunate’ mishap, but added: ‘If it’s in breach of his code of conduct I hope they sack him.’
Guru-Murthy then issued an unreserved apology for the blunder.
‘After a robust interview with Steve Baker MP I used a very offensive word in an unguarded moment off air,’ he said.
‘While it was not broadcast that word in any context is beneath the standards I set myself and I apologise unreservedly. I have reached out to Steve Baker to say sorry.’
Mr Baker replied: ‘I appreciate you apologising. Thank you.’
