Last moments of man killed, falsely branded a paedophile
CCTV shows grim last moments of 50-year-old man’s life before he was falsely branded a ‘nonce’ and stamped to death by murderer Steven Walton
- Steven Walton was found guilty of the murder of innocent Jason Lord
Distressing footage shows innocent Jason Lord’s last moments walking home before he was assaulted and killed by Steven Walton in January.
Lord, 50, was seen on CCTV, shared by police, whistling cheerily as he walked through the Montagu Estate in Kenton, Newcastle on January 20 this year.
The victim is understood to have said ‘hello’ to a girl walking past – an encounter that would provoke his killer into chasing him down in his BMW.
CCTV picked up audio of Walton attacking Lord, stamping him to death as he branded him a ‘nonce’ – audio police felt too inappropriate to be released.
Walton, 42, of The Crossway, Kenton, will be given a life-sentence on Tuesday for the murder of Jason Lord.
