Major update in Levi Davis case – PI says X Factor star may have been ‘snatched off Barcelona street by Brit kidnappers’ | The Sun

A PRIVATE detective hired by Levi Davis' family believes he may have been snatched off the streets of Barcelona and kidnapped by British gangsters.

The 24-year-old rugby player was last seen leaving an Irish pub in the Spanish city on October 29.

Cops confirmed Levi's passport was found in Barcelona's port area in November.

His mum Julie Davis has now revealed a private detective believes her son may have been kidnapped by criminals from London in a dispute over money, reports the Mail.

She said the investigator had received an anonymous tip saying Levi had become embroiled in a row with crooks two years ago while playing for Ealing Trailfinders.

Julie told the outlet: "We desperately need to know more because this could change the whole nature of the investigation.

"The person was very cagey and revealed very little details other than to say that 'persons in the UK are involved in Levi's disappearance' and that it stems from a falling out he apparently had with a gang in London when he played rugby there."

It is understood detectives in Spain are treating the tip seriously.

Gavin Burrow, the private detector, added: "We've received several anonymous pieces of information that point to the fact that Levi's disappearance is not voluntary.

"There are definitely people in both London and Barcelona who know what's happened to him and we are following the leads we have been given."

Levi's worried family travelled out to Spain to help with the search after he vanished but, despite some possible sightings of Levi, none have been confirmed as him.

It is understood Levi made a $30 payment on Bizum – an instant mobile payment app – on the day he went missing.

Meanwhile, a video message sent by Levi to his mum on the day he went missing shows him on the ferry from Ibiza to Barcelona.

Taken in the middle of the seven-hour trip, Levi's voice is barely audible over the heavy winds, but he can be heard saying: "Hi mum… it's beautiful."

In November, a witness contacted Levi's family claiming they had seen him in Barcelona's Placa Sant Agusti Vell.

It is believed that the same witness said they had seen him in another square near the city's Arc de Triomf monument.

The spot is just a six-minute walk from the Old Irish Pub where Levi was seen leaving on October 29.

Levi made the journey to Barcelona alone after staying in Ibiza for a week.

The former Bath winger had been suffering from depression and had gone on holiday following a knee injury.
