Mr Morris was already a father to three children and a step-daughter.

His wife, who is due to give birth in January, said: ‘He was the best person you would ever meet.

‘We had the best life. I finally got pregnant and when he found out he was so happy about that. He was over the moon.

‘I had all these images of him with the kids and the babies. He’s such an amazing father and I’m never going to get that chance to see him with them.

‘He was such a good person. I’m absolutely heartbroken, I’ve lost him.

‘I loved him so much and he loved me so much.’

The couple had been due to visit the Lake District that day to celebrate Mr Morris’s birthday but he was involved in a collision in Priestburn Close at around 12.30pm.

Mr Morris ran a landscaping business, A&S Groundworks and loved going to the gym.

He was a dedicated family man and was a big fan of TikTok, entertaining his 490,000 followers with his videos.

Mrs Morris added: ‘He was so hard-working and committed to his family. I didn’t have to worry about anything. He was the best husband in the world.

‘He was such a character. He was so full of personality.

‘He was good at everything — gymnastics, football, he could do 10 backflips. He was a MMA fighter.

‘He was a man of many talents, he was amazing. You could have met him once and you would never forget him.’

Mrs Morris, who is a student nurse, was the second person at the scene and helped care for her husband until paramedics arrived.

He was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham but died several hours later.

Described as popular and funny, many tributes have been paid to Mr Morris since his death, with more than £5,600 being raised in his memory within three days.

GoFundMe organiser Shona Wilson called Mr Morris a ‘funny, popular and caring lad.’

She added: ‘If you could please spare the cost of a pint to toast to him or whatever you can, to go towards the send-off he deserves it would be appreciated more than you could know.’
