Man allegedly armed with knife shot by police at Lithgow Hospital
A man who was allegedly wielding a knife has been shot by police on hospital grounds west of Sydney.
The man was allegedly being arrested by officers at Lithgow Hospital on the Great Western Highway when the shooting occurred. He is believed to have been shot in the abdomen.
The man is being assisted at the scene by medical staff and is said to be in a stable condition.
“Members of the public are urged to avoid the area,” a statement from police about the operation said.
