A man in his 20s fell to his death while abseiling at a popular location in the Blue Mountains on Friday morning and emergency services are now working to retrieve his body from the Katoomba Cliffs.

Witnesses provided medical assistance before paramedics arrived but he died at the scene.
He is yet to be formally identified.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
On one Blue Mountains adventure website, the abseil down Malaita Wall is described as a five-pitch journey to the Jamison Valley which has views of the Three Sisters, and is described as “sure to make your heart pound”.
Another adventure website describes the abseil as “suitable for beginners that are comfortable around heights”.
