Man’s body found in St Kilda laneway

Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man in St Kilda after his body was found with fatal injuries in a laneway near the popular coastal strip.

Several blocks near Catani Gardens were cordoned off on Tuesday morning as officers combed the scene for evidence.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said emergency services were called to Acland Street at about 8am.

“The man is yet to be formally identified,” she said.

“Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and are yet to determine whether the death is suspicious.”

Nine News reporter Lana Murphy told radio station 3AW that the body was found with stab wounds.
