Mom who was 'harassed' by security at Taylor Swift's tour speaks out

I’m the problem, it’s me! Mom who Taylor Swift DEFENDED during her Philly concert after overzealous security guard ‘harassed’ her says she was ‘only taking pictures’ of the megastar

  • Kelly Inglis Kelly was dancing and singing in the front row when she suddenly realized Taylor Swift broke away from her song to come to her aid
  • The mom-of-one from Baltimore, Maryland, told DailyMail.com she was stunned at what happened – and is ecstatic that she gets to see Taylor live again tonight

A woman who was shouted at and harassed by a security guard at the Taylor Swift show in Philadelphia – before the star noticed and helped her out – has revealed she’s been offered free tickets for tonight’s concert.

Kelly Inglis Kelly was dancing in the front row when she suddenly realized Taylor Swift broke away from her song to come to her aid during her Eras Tour performance of Bad Blood at the Lincoln Financial Field stadium in Philadelphia.

The pop star, 33, repeatedly pulled away from the lyrics to bellow: ‘Hey, stop!’ over the edge of the stage, adding: ‘She wasn’t doing anything!’

DailyMail.com can now revealed that it was Kelly who Taylor Swift was desperately trying to help – as a guard kept trying to suppress her dancing during the show.

The mom-of-one, from Baltimore, Maryland, was initially meant to have obstructed view seats for the concert – but at the last minute her sister Kirstin Birmingham was able to secure floor tickets.

This was Kelly’s whopping 13th time seeing Taylor Swift live in concert, which also happened to fall on May 13 – something she believes was a lucky sign, since the pop star has said herself that 13 is her lucky number.

Kelly Inglis Kelly, from Baltimore, Maryland, couldn’t believe what happened after a irate security guard was shouted at by Taylor Swift for harassing her at the concert. Kelly confirmed that she was just dancing and having a good time – and was stunned when Taylor noticed

‘She wasn’t doing anything!’: Taylor shouted at a security guard during her set to help the fan

The sisters arrived at the concert in Philadelphia with their two friends Jenn and Hannah ready to dance the night away to their favorite artist.

But Kelly – who has been a diehard ‘Swiftie’ since 2007 – couldn’t believe what happened as Taylor herself came to her defense while singing the 1989 album hit Bad Blood.

After the situation, the women said the publicly-shamed guard was escorted from the premises himself, before they were approached by other stadium officials who offered to give them free tickets to Sunday’s concert.

Speaking about what happened on the night, ecstatic Kelly told DailyMail.com: ‘I was just dancing, and this security guard was just crazy, yelling at us.

‘He didn’t want us to take photos in front of the stage. He was being very strict.’

Kirstin added: ‘Every time he passed us we had to stand back because we were worried he would kick us out.’

Kelly, who is a teacher, continued: ‘He had been like that all night, he was really annoyed.

‘I know Taylor Swift – she wants people to come to her shows and have fun. I wasn’t doing anything outrageous, I wasn’t trying to get to the other side of the barrier.

‘Every time we would dance he would say “you need to back up.”‘

Kelly revealed that even when the pop star, 33, came to her aid and yelled via the microphone in front of tens of thousands of people, the security guard still did not stop shouting at her.

She said that while he yelled at her, and Taylor yelled at him – her sister Kirstin starting telling the killjoy guard to turn around and listen to what was happening on the stage.

The mom-of-one also took to her friend’s social media page to ‘set the record straight’ about what happened

She has attended a total of 13 Taylor Swift concerts – including one in Tampa, Florida, in April this year. She said she’s been ‘in awe of Taylor since she was 17’

Kelly, from Maryland, has been a diehard Swift fan for over a decade

Kelly said: ‘I don’t think I even put it together at first, the crazy part is that he kept yelling at me. My sister then was shouting “turn around, Taylor is yelling at you.”

‘He didn’t know what was going on.’

She confirmed that the guard did not physically touch them throughout the ordeal.

Kelly and her sister Kirstin said they have supported Taylor since her very first album, and the pair recalled that they would belt out her music on the way to high school every day when they were younger.

And the fact that the star noticed her plight and came to her aid was surreal.

The sisters and their friends are set to go back to Philadelphia for a second time after being offered the free tickets – which mom Kelly said was a great way to spend her Mother’s Day.

Kelly added: ‘I can’t believe my life, what is happening. It was my 13th time seeing Taylor live, on the 13th May, it was like the Taylor Swift gods were listening.

‘It was so crazy.’

The mom also took to her friend’s social media page to ‘set the record straight’ about what happened.

In a clip, she said: ‘The guard had been harassing our group all night, anytime we did anything he was on top of us we’re dancing, we’re having fun, and he did not like it.

‘And Taylor noticed that I was having fun and he didn’t like it, and she didn’t like it, and he basically got escorted out, and then they offered us free tickets for tonight

‘It wasn’t this big crazy thing, it was just a bunch of girls having a good time and he didn’t want us to have fun.’

Playing on one of Taylor’s most famous lyric from Anti Hero, she captioned it: ‘It’s me, hi, I’m the problem.’

Intervention: Taylor Swift repeatedly broke away from the song she was singing onstage Saturday to seemingly yell at a security guard in the audience

Fans believe they have cracked the code and found the moment the security guard (circled, bottom center, wearing a hat) – who was shouted at by Swift – rushes over to stop fans from jumping near the barrier

Captured from another angle, Taylor can be seen reaching out to the crowd and shouting at the security for an unknown reason

A new frame-by-frame clip shows a security guard, wearing glasses and a hat, rushing over to a group of fans jumping at the barrier.

The footage suggests he then raised his arms to move the girls from the metal railing. It’s at this point Taylor begins shouting in their direction.

The Taylor Swift fan who recorded the moment added: ‘Also for everyone’s reference – the same security guard had been giving those girls trouble all night if they got close to barricade.’

One witness, who claimed that security on her side were also being aggressive, said: ‘Taylor was yelling at a security guard because they fully kept putting their hands on us to physically push us off of the barricade instead of just telling us to move.

‘We weren’t throwing anything, we weren’t screaming anything insane, she was fully coming over to dance and sing with us and it resulted in security being extremely aggressive for no reason.’

The witness told DailyMail.com that the ordeal that made Taylor break from her singing happened on the other side of the stage from where she was – but the security were acting similarly ‘on both sides.’

‘Every time Taylor came over to us they would scream at us to get away,’ she said.

Briana Layfield, who caught the moment on camera and was standing near the guard who was shouted at, wrote online: ‘Hey Taylor Swift, THANK YOU from all of us on the floor for putting that security guard in his place.

‘He was a PITA (pain in the a**) the whole night and the fact that this happened during Bad Blood makes it even better.’

She added: ‘One security guy in particular was nitpicky the entire night. If your toes touched the metal barricade you got screamed at. Total overkill.’

Taylor’s stint in Philadelphia previously hit the headlines Friday night when she brought her rumored boyfriend Matty Healy onstage to open the concert.

Matty, a bad boy English rocker who used to be addicted to heroin, took the mic dressed in a skeleton suit and accompanied himself on the guitar.

At another point in the show, an eagle-eyed fan caught a glimpse of Matty in the crowd and took a brief video that was then posted to Twitter.

Standing near Matty in the audience was Taylor’s longtime pal Blake Lively, as well as another woman who appeared to be Sabrina Carpenter.

Matty’s appearance at Taylor’s show comes one day after they were caught ‘kissing’ and holding hands while on a romantic date in New York City on Thursday, May 11.

They were reportedly enjoying a double date at the celeb hot spot Casa Cipriani with Taylor’s songwriting collaborator Jack Antonoff and his fiancée Margaret Qualley.

Taylor is said to be on the rebound after the collapse of her romance with the smoldering British actor Joe Alwyn, whom she dated for six years.

Quick-change: The concert afforded Taylor an opportunity to twirl through a string of ultra-glitzy ensembles

Healy has been supporting the Anti-Hero singer at recent stops on her Eras Tour, which kicked off in March.

For their Thursday night date in the city, Swift looked elegant in a yellow sundress and wore her blonde hair in a low bun.

She was spotted strolling into the venue with a glass of wine in one hand while the other was seemingly interlocked with Healy’s.

The pop rocker looked effortlessly cool in all black and with a pair of sunglasses on his head of curly brown hair.

The outing comes days after Healy was spotted clapping and gyrating while attending the most recent gig in Taylor’s Eras Tour.

As per video captured by a Swift fan, the musician was dancing to her 2014 hit Shake It Off at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

Other ‘Swifties’ went wild as they spotted him wearing a T-shirt featuring the cover of her 1989 album, which he had been seen sporting in previous years.

Earlier this week, DailyMail.com exclusively obtained the first photos of Swift and Healy together in wake of the romance rumors.

The rumored couple were pictured arriving to Taylor’s condo at 12:30AM on Sunday morning following her Eras concert in Nashville, Tennessee.

They sat beside each other in the back of their chauffeured vehicle, where Matty was still wearing the same bracelet he sported earlier that evening while attending her concert alongside members of Taylor’s girl squad, Gigi Hadid and Lily Aldridge.

It was first reported last week that Matty and Taylor had planned to debut their romance by her bringing him up on stage to perform several songs at her Nashville shows.

Matty did perform during Saturday’s show with Taylor’s opening act but remained in the audience during the Mean singer’s stage time.

Who is Taylor Swift’s rumored new boyfriend Matty Healy?

Matty Healy is the lead singer of British band The 1975, who, as well as having battled heroin addiction, was expelled from school for fighting, smokes fat joints in interviews and is generally better known for sex and drugs than rock and roll.

Healy has a unique take on being famous, having grown up the child of famous — now divorced — parents.

His father Tim Healy is best known for his role in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet and his mother Denise Welch was famous when he was growing up for her role in Soldier Soldier.

She even had a (brief) singing career, releasing a single which nearly made the top 20. In 1997, she was cast in Coronation Street and the family moved from Northumberland to Manchester.

By this point, Welch was suffering from depression, and medicating with alcohol and drugs, although she has been clean for some time.

Healy met his The 1975 bandmates – Adam Hann, Ross MacDonald, and George Daniel – at Wilmslow High School in Cheshire, where they were all ‘misfits’.

They used to rehearse at Healy’s house — which was teeming with famous people, including Ringo Starr, Mark Knopfler, Rick Wakeman and AC/DC’s Brian Johnson (who happens to be his godfather).

He told an interviewer: ‘I’d be playing on a guitar in the house, not knowing it was the one from [Dire Straits’] Romeo And Juliet.’

One night, after hearing him play, prog rock legend Rick Wakeman pulled him to one side and told him he had ‘it’.

His father Tim told him once: ‘Music is in your bones. You’re the reincarnation of John Lennon. It’s in you.’

Despite the backing of his parents, the band struggled to get signed by a label.

Healy even toyed with an acting career, making a cameo in the BBC school drama Waterloo Road, in which his mother also starred.

The band released four EPs before releasing their debut self-titled album The 1975 in 2013, which topped the UK Albums Chart.

Following this success, they released four subsequent albums, have won four Brit awards and played Glastonbury three times.

He missed his mother’s wedding to artist Lincoln Townley in 2013 because the band were supporting the Rolling Stones on tour.

By the time he was 25, he was talking about having had a small heroin habit and a larger cocaine one before he was famous, and claimed that they have been overcome.

But in the summer of 2017, the rest of the band staged an intervention, and told him to go to rehab for booze, heroin and opiate use.

He flew to Barbados and spent eight weeks in rehab, which included equine therapy.

He said of his horse mentor: ‘I wanted to impress it more than any human being I’ve ever met. There were so many qualities I envied in this horse. And he had great hair.’

More recently, he has been living in West London and having a much quieter life. He has tried yoga, and swimming, and has been trying to get on top of the frequent migraines he suffers.

But, having fallen for the world’s most visible female pop star, that has all changed in the blink of an eye. The question is, to quote one of Taylor’s songs, are they Ready For It? Or will it be a swift ending?
