Moment DPD driver forced to climb over fence to escape customer after being 'locked in for refusing to hand over parcel' | The Sun

THIS is the moment a DPD driver embarked on a daring escape after he was reportedly locked in by a customer for refusing to hand over a parcel.

The worker could be seen standing on a wheelie bin as he scoped a way out of the gated area.

He then makes his way towards the woman filming, who can be seen holding her passport and a delivery slip.

The driver then drags the bin across gravel to an electric fence.

She says: "I'm never going to get my phone…you're not going to let me see the phone no?"

As he hops onto the bin to scale the gate, girl appears to try to take the parcel out of the driver's pocket.

But he snatches it away, telling her "hey, hey hey. Get the f**k away from here".

The driver then clambers over the fence and heads back to his van while the girl accuses him of "stealing" her phone.

The video was posted on TikTok with the title: "When DPD wont give you your parcel so you lock them in".

User ryansm6 says in the comments his niece wasn't handed the package on Saturday as she didn't have her passport.

But he claims the driver refused to hand it over even with the correct identification after it was rescheduled for the next day.

He then explains she didn't give him the access code for the gate so he was unable to leave.

The post has divided users though – with some demanding the driver report the woman for "false imprisonment".

One person said: "False imprisonment is punishable under criminal law".

Another wrote: "Two sides to every story….. There is more to this then you are tell [sic] us".

While one said: "Obviously a reason. Maybe ID didn’t match. If they don’t deliver the don’t get paid".

The Sun Online has contacted DPD and the TikTok user for comment.
