My boyfriend found £35MILLION in his bank account but I’m still furious with his next move | The Sun

A BOYFRIEND found £35million in his bank account – what he did next infuriated his partner.

The man's girlfriend blasted his well-meaning decision in a hilarious Twitter post.

"My boyfriend woke up with $58million dollars (£35m) of someone else's money in his bank account this morning," the Aussie woman posted.

"Rather than take the money and run he opted to call the bank and tell them of the error.

"We could be living on our own island somewhere by now. Sad."

The boyfriend made her "clarify" the situation in a second tongue-in-cheek message.

She added: "He would like me to clarify that it's not $58million in liquid cash, but a bunch of accounts worth $58million that he's now got control over. And therefore much harder to steal away with.

"He doesn't want his good name as a bandidos besmirched."

It didn't take long for Twitter users to wade into the light-hearted lovers tiff.

One user said it wasn't "sad", but rather "beautiful that he has a good heart and chooses to share it with you".

"Money might make life easier," they wrote. "But it doesn't make you happier, be happy that you have a good partner in life."

Another joked that he'd have "looked for a list of countries with no extradition treaties with Australia".

Others said the man deserved to be rewarded for his honesty.

"Is there a finder's fee? Surely a cheeky one per cent to return it to its rightful owner wouldn't be missed?" another asked.

It's not the first time a bank accidentally transferred money into the wrong person's account.

Earlier this month, a woman was left stunned when £31 million was transferred into her bank account by mistake and revealed what she wanted to spend it on.

Ruth Balloon, 35, from Dallas, US, checked her bank balance only to find that she had an extra $37 million (£31 million) at her disposal.

The mother-of-two was shocked to see the whopping amount and said: "I was like, 'wow, we have a lot of money'!"

Ruth said she had wanted to believe "someone really gifted us with that $37 million" but she knew it was too good to be true.

The first thing Ruth did was take a breath before getting on the phone to tell her husband about it, reports CBS News.

39-year-old Brian initially thought it was a scam and called the bank about the deposit.

Eventually, he got through to LegacyTexas, who informed the couple they had millions because a teller had punched in an account number as the figure instead of the amount of cash being deposited.

Ruth said they were told it was a clerical error with the back apologising before taking back the money.

And while the millions were only around for a day and half, it was enough time for Ruth to "daydream" about how to spend the dosh.

She said: "First I was going to do 10% tithing. Then I was going to donate some money and then I would have invested in real estate.
