Mystery as woman’s decomposed body is found stuffed in a suitcase at bus stop
- The ’50 per cent’ decomposed body was found at a bus stop in Kulai, Johor, Tues
- It was covered in ‘maggots’ and the woman probably died ‘two weeks ago’
The decomposed body of a woman covered in ‘maggots’ has been found stuffed inside a suitcase at a bus stop in Malaysia.
The body of the woman, said to be around 25, was found in the suitcase by a man in Kulai, a district in the southern state of Johor, on Tuesday, according to police.
Police Chief Superintendent Tok Beng Yeow said he was alerted to the discarded suitcase at around 1.50pm and found the remains ’50 per cent’ decomposed.
The woman’s death probably happened ‘two weeks ago’ and she had suffered a head injury ‘below the scalp’, according to a preliminary post-mortem report by Sultanah Aminah Hospital.
But the cause of death is still under ‘investigation’ and the police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Mr Tok said: ‘Police officers, together with a team from the Kulai police’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) and the state police contingent’s forensic unit, were immediately despatched to the scene.
‘A preliminary inspection at the scene failed to determine gender, age and estimated time of death due to the advanced stage of decomposition.
‘There is also an injury below the victim’s scalp. However, the cause of death is still under investigation. The case is classified under section 302 of the penal code for murder.’
He appealed to anyone who has information on the case to contact the Kulai police or investigating officer at 016-2850204.
