New pictures have revealed the happiness of a former Lotto winning couple who have both found love with new partners since scooping their £32.5m jackpot – and splitting up.

Teachers Gerry and Lisa Cannings had vowed to stay as ‘Mr and Mrs Boring and Normal’ when they were presented with their massive cheque in February, 2016.

But the couple are now believed to be divorced and are living in separate mansions eight miles apart with new lovers.

Twice-married ex-history teacher Gerry, 70, is with his new partner Samantha Cardell, 55, who was a parent at the school where he taught before his win.

Lisa, 55, who is now blonde has found love with football-mad lorry driver Carl Weaver, a former chief technician in the RAF.

She and her former husband previously lived together in her rambling 18th century house which they bought in her name for £1.35m in July, 2016, just five months after their big win.

But Lisa who drives a turquoise-coloured Porsche is now sharing the property with fitness fanatic Carl, 59, who drives a Jaguar car with a personalised number plate.

The loved-up couple who keep in shape with country walks have been making no secret that they are an item in a series of social media posts.

Wolverhampton Wanderers fan Carl who was reportedly driving lorries until at least last year has posted pictures on his Facebook account, showing him and Lisa enjoying drinks in a garden and eating out at a restaurant.

One of his relatives commented on one of the pictures taken three-months-ago: ‘The nicest couple that anyone could hope to meet.’

Land Registry records show that former language teacher Lisa has now reverted to her maiden name of Lisa Frisby and is listed as the sole owner of her property near Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.

The historic five bedroom house which was extended in the 19th century includes a tennis court and was listed in 1955. It is now thought to be worth around £2m.

Gerry is thought to have moved out of the house he shared with his wife in around 2020 and has now set up home with mother-of-three Samantha

The couple live in their own luxurious six bedroom detached home with two double garages in three acres of grounds in a Lincolnshire village.

The property was built in 2006 to what estate agents described as ‘an impeccable standard and to a design that has an outstanding impact of drama and a sense of space’.

Land Registry records reveal that it was bought for £1.625m in November 2020 with the registered owners being father-of-three Gerry and his new partner under her maiden name Samantha Watt.

The couple have happily posed for social media pictures enjoying foreign trips and meals out, and sipping champagne.

Samantha previously lived in a £750,000 detached home with her Ford Galaxy-driving husband Andrew, around two miles from the mansion which Gerry and Lisa moved into after their big win.

A family friend told The Sun: ‘Everyone has tried to make out there was this dramatic split with affairs and things – but it couldn’t be further from the truth.

‘The reality is Gerry and Lisa split and have both happily found new people to move on with.

‘Gerry isn’t known as much of a spender so it’s fantastic he’s found someone to help him enjoy all those millions he’s got in the bank.’

Another friend said: ‘Lisa is enjoying the quiet life with her down-to-earth new man – gardening and going on walks after years of slogging it out as a teacher.

‘No-one knows if Carl has converted Lisa to supporting Wolves, but you can bet he’s tried.’

Companies House records confirm that Gerry and Lisa had set up a company in September 2017 to handle their investments.

They were joint directors along with Gerry’s two grown up sons from his previous marriage, but Lisa ceased being a person with ‘significant control’ of the company when she quit as a director in March 2021.

No accounts for the company are publicly available, meaning that the former couple’s finances and investments remain a mystery.

A local farmer, who knows Gerry, reportedly said: ‘Everyone around here knows Gerry is the lottery winner and Samantha is his new partner.

‘He’s a decent fella and we’re chuffed for him but a bit envious that he doesn’t need to work.’

One of Lisa’s neighbours added: ‘We first saw them together in the village pub and I thought “Hello, what’s going on here?”

‘Good luck to them. They are good neighbours and keep themselves to themselves. It is a lovely, quiet village.’

Another neighbour said: ‘It’s no secret that Lisa and Carl are together and Gerry and Samantha. I assume Lisa and Gerry are getting divorced now, they split up some time ago.

‘Everyone knows the Cannings are the Lotto winners but it does show that winning can destroy people and marriages.’

Gerry and Lisa were living with their then 11-year-old son in a £220,000 house in a village near Peterborough at the time of their win.

Speaking at the time of the life-changing win, Gerry, said: ‘We’re normal, we just do normal things and we want to carry on doing normal things.

‘We don’t really worry about things or make a drama. You could say we’re a bit boring like that.’

He insisted there would be no lavish change in their lifestyle and that their son, would have to wait until his birthday four months later to get the Xbox he had always wanted.

The keen golfer and grandfather of five admitted he wanted to help his family.

Gerry added: ‘We will help them buy houses and make sure they are comfortable, but we don’t want money to take over their lives.’

He told how he had seen a poster advertising the rollover jackpot which he won when he went to buy fish and chips on the evening of the draw.

Gerry explained: ‘I thought, well, why not? So I went and asked for five lucky dips. And one of them turned out to be lucky. It didn’t seem real.’

The couple, who had chosen to go public, together vowed ‘to carry on as boringly and normally as we always have.’

They matched all six numbers – 15, 16, 23, 39, 48, and 59 – beating odds of 45 million-to-one to win the jackpot after nine consecutive rollover draws.

Lisa told how she had sent a text message to all her friends and family saying: ‘Won the lottery jackpot! Catch us on the news! Speak to you soon! OMG!’

The couple said they would buy a bigger and better home and upgrade their modest cars.

Both Gerry and Lisa have refused to comment on their new lives with mew partners

Gerry’s first wife Jenny Brown, 68 – who famously once said she would not take him back for £32m – said she now only had contact with him over their grandchildren.

Samantha’s ex Andy who has been described by his friends as a lookalike of Hugh Grantalso refused to comment, saying: ‘I have a divorce going through and if anything came up to jeopardise that it would be wrong.’

He refused to confirm or deny if he blamed Gerry for his marriage ending, saying: ‘I’m not answering that at the moment.’
