Nurse, 40, 'groped & sexually assaulted boy, 14, after plying him with booze during party' | The Sun

A NURSE groped and sexually assaulted a 14-year-old boy while drunk at a party, a court heard today.

Katie Barrett, 40, allegedly plied the teen with booze then told him: "Come here baby, I want you to f**k me."

The nurse also told his dad "don't worry, I'm not trying to seduce your son" before assaulting him at the VE Day party in Camberley, Surrey, it is said.

Guildford Crown Court heard Barrett led the boy upstairs to her bedroom and touched him inappropriately.

She continued assaulting him even when neighbours called upstairs to find out where she was, jurors were told.

Barrett had allegedly given the boy Strongbow cider and shots of Limoncello as they drunk in her garden.

Prosecutor Leo Seelig said: "The defendant asked the victim if he wanted to f**k her. She then apologised, said she shouldn't have said that and they went around to the front of the property.

"The defendant gave the victim shots of Limoncello and they went back inside the house. She asked the victim if he wanted 'to do it,' saying she 'wanted him.' The victim said no, you're drunk and that his parents were outside.

"She kissed him and he, also drunk, went along with it. She took him upstairs and said 'come here baby, I want you to f**k me."

After the alleged assault, the boy told his friend what happened, who told him to ring the police.

Barrett was arrested two days after the party on May 8, 2020.

In police interviews, the teen told officers: "My parents told me to speak to people, so I came over and spoke to people at the party.

"I then spoke to Katie, who was being nice and asked me what I wanted to do when school was over and how I was coping with Covid quarantine.

"She also asked if I had a girlfriend and she said it was good that I didn't have one.

"She gave me a Strongbow and maybe 10 minutes later, she got me another drink. My sister asked for one but she told her to get one, instead of getting one for her like she did for me. When we were outside and started talking, she said to 'come with me'."

The boy alleged she made the foul-mouthed comment to him before they shared more drinks but he refused – saying she was drunk and his parents were outside.

He continued: "I froze. She said let's go upstairs and I went along with it. I didn't know what to do, and I was a little drunk.

"I felt guilty the next day and was scared to tell mum because I felt embarrassed.

"The other day it hit me, that I think she had it in mind the whole night. I didn't realise until a few days later."
