Pennsylvania Teen ADMITS to murdering girl, 13, on Instagram video showing his friend the victim’s bloody legs and feet before asking to help bury the body

• Police in Pennsylvania received a 911 call about a possible homicide from a teenage girl who had received an Instagram video chat from a 16-year-old friend
• Joshua Cooper stated in the message that he had just killed someone
• He then flipped the video image and showed the legs and feet of someone covered in blood and asked for assistance with disposal of the body
• Bensalem Police arrested Cooper who had fled when he saw officers arrive
• When officers entered the mobile home they found the body of a teenage girl on the bathroom floor with an apparent gunshot wound
• There were indications substantial steps were taken to clean up the crime scene
• Cooper is now in custody and has been charged as an adult 

A 16-year-old boy from Pennsylvania went on Instagram to tell his friend that he had murdered a girl at his home in Bensalem and then asked her to help bury the body.

Joshua Cooper has been charged as an adult over the killing of a 13-year-old girl who was found to have been shot dead.

Police in Bensalem received a call on Friday about the homicide with the caller explaining how Cooper had sent a video message on through social in which he allegedly admitted to the murder.

During the chat, Cooper is alleged to have said that he had just killed someone and then flipped the camera around to show the young girls’ legs and feet covered in blood.

When officers entered the mobile home they found the body of a teenage girl on the bathroom floor with an apparent gunshot wound

He then asked the  teenage girl whom he called for her help in disposing the body.

Officers immediately went to Cooper’s trailer park home whereupon they found the teenage girl dead on the bathroom floor from a gunshot wound to the chest. 

Police have said the victim is not a resident of Bensalem and is not related to Cooper. 

When police arrived they noted how that ‘substantial steps’ had been take to clear up the bloody crime scene.

Cooper ran from police  when they arrived but it didn’t take long for officers to catch him and bring him into custody.

He faces charges of criminal homicide, possessing instruments of crime and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

‘I heard a gunshot and I know about gunshots,’ Charlie Petree said to CBS3. ‘And I come out and open the door and I see the boy run across there. I talked to the boy out here on the bench a couple of times and he seemed troubled.

Other residents were shocked by the incident. 

I’ve lived in Bensalem on-and-off my whole life and I think that’s the first time I’ve ever really seen the crime scene unit truck out like that, so it’s really rare,’ Katlynn said to CBS News. 

‘I heard a gunshot and I know about gunshots,’ Charlie Petree said to CBS3 . ‘And I come out and open the door and I see the boy run across there. I talked to the boy out here on the bench a couple of times and he seemed troubled.’

Police say there were indications substantial steps were taken to clean up the crime scene

‘It was an accident,’ Cooper reportedly told police, according to the probable cause affidavit as seen by the Courier Times. 

During an initial interview Cooper told police he was cleaning out his father’s safe and had removed the firearms contained inside. 

He claimed to have accessed the safe by ‘replacing the batteries his father had removed, which had made the combination lock inoperable,’ according to the affidavit.  He said he was sorting out ammunition.  

Cooper and the victim spend the afternoon together and watched TV together before the shooting occurred.

Bensalem police did not identify the girl citing her as a juvenile, but said she was identified by her jewelry. 

Cooper was denied bail and sent to the Edison Juvenile Detention Center with a preliminary hearing is set for December 7, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
