The family of a man who was fatally stabbed outside a tube station has paid tribute to the ‘much-loved’ 20-year-old who ‘always put his friends and family first’.

Filipe was attacked outside Tulse Hill in Lambeth, south London on Saturday around 6pm. He was found wounded inside a shop along busy Norwood Road.

Paramedics tried to treat his injuries, but Filipe died at the scene. No arrests have been made at this time.

Now his loved ones have paid tribute to the ‘good strong young man’ who was taken away from them by ‘senseless knife crime with no provocation’.

‘He was a very much loved member of our family and his loss will be felt strongly forever,’ Filipe’s family wrote on a crowdfunding page.

‘His friends are forever going to miss his company, jokes, laugh and smile.’

Soraia Oliveira, who is organising the GoFundMe seeking £10,000 for funeral costs, described Filipe as one of the ‘funniest people you could come across’.

Ms Oliveira said he always wanted to help others and ‘shared everything he had’.

‘He would be willing to give his last pound away to someone else who needed it,’ she penned. ‘Filipe was a very spiritual person and was using this to find himself and to become the good strong young man we knew he would grow to be.’

She also launched an appeal for help with funeral costs, saying: ‘No one plans for someone to die at 20 years old. Especially not for them to be taken so violently and suddenly.

‘We hope that you are able to donate or share this link to help us be able to give him a funeral and send off fitting of the good person he was.’

Ms Oliveira concluded: ‘Rest in Peace Filipe – we love you forever.’
