Police have released CCTV footage of the owner of a dog who viciously mauled an 11-year-old schoolgirl.
The child was walking in London’s Tower Hamlets on her way to school when she passed a man walking two dogs.
As she passed them, one of the animals lunged at her and bit her repeatedly on the hand and arm.

She was saved by a passing taxi driver who wrested the victim from the dog’s grip. The girl was rushed to hospital with broken bones and potentially life-changing injuries.
The dog owner left the scene on Ben Jonson Road in Stepney Green before police arrived.
The Metropolitan Police has today released video footage of the man and his two dogs on the day of the attack on September 28 in a renewed bid to track them down.

Detective Inspector Luke Hampton said: ‘This was a shocking and sustained attack on a young girl as she walked to school.
‘The incident not only left her with serious injuries – including broken bones – but has also left her traumatised.
‘We need to quickly identify the owner of these dogs to make sure this does not happen again.’
