Pregnant woman is forced to give birth to baby daughter on the side of a motorway after going into labour while rushing to the hospital

A woman gave birth to her baby daughter on the side of a motorway because the hospital was too far away.

The expecting mother and father were on their way to the hospital in the Netherlands after she went into labour.

However, it proved to be too far away and the woman gave birth to her child on an exit from the A13 motorway near Delft on Saturday afternoon.

Shocking footage shows the family’s car pulled over at the side of the motorway with the doors open on the passenger’s side.

Despite the emergency services trying their best to get to the scene, the paramedics did not arrive until after the baby was born.

The newborn baby was then wrapped in a blanket and taken to the hospital

The obstetrician had reportedly been driving behind the couple in order to be at the hospital for the birth, according to Nieuws.

The newborn baby was then wrapped in a blanket and taken from the car to the ambulance.

Her mother, carrying a teddy bear, was then carried over to her daughter on a stretcher.

The parents then shared a kiss before she was taken away to the hospital.

Earlier this year in Australia in January a father described the frantic moment his wife gave birth to their daughter on the side of a busy freeway.

There was also another mother who gave birth to her son at roadside on the way to the hospital in Queensland.
