Prince Harry has 'enough for another book' and cut memoir 'in HALF'

There’s enough for another book! Prince Harry says he cut his memoir in HALF and stripped out details about his father and brother – as he claims he has ‘long-term’ aim to ‘fix’ the monarchy, insisting ‘it’s about trying to save them from themselves’

  • Prince Harry has revealed he has enough material to publish a second memoir
  • He eventually cut almost half of the material he’d written in a first draft
  • There are details of his relationship with family he doesn’t want world to know

Prince Harry has revealed he has enough material to publish a second memoir and cut almost half of the material he’d written in a first draft.

The Duke of Sussex told The Telegraph he chose to leave out several bombshells because he was concerned his father and brother would not ‘ever forgive’ him.

‘The first draft was different. It was 800 pages, and now it’s down to 400 pages. It could have been two books, put it that way. And the hard bit was taking things out.

‘There are some things that have happened, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don’t want the world to know. Because I don’t think they would ever forgive me.’

Harry also revealed his motivation to speak out so publicly against the Firm is to ultimately ‘save [his family] from themselves’.

He detailed plans to derail the relationship between the Royal family and the press, expressing his belief that in doing so he can protect future divisions in the family.

After the dust has settled, he expressed a hope that he and Meghan can reconnect with his family – even if they don’t particularly like his decision to share ‘his truth’.

News that there is enough content for a second book will undoubtedly set off alarm bells in the royal fold after the recent onslaught of mudslinging.

In his memoir Spare and several interviews to promote it, Harry has levelled wide ranging and damaging accusations against his closest relatives.

The Duke of Sussex launched an attempted charm offensive this week, appearing on US talkback shows mocking royal protocol to promote his bestselling memoir, Spare.

Harry takes MORE swipes at Camilla

He claimed William attacked him, the King and Queen Consort leaked stories to the press to boost their own profiles and – in what was described as an ‘own goal’ – enraged the Taliban after revealing he had killed 25 of their own during his tours of Afghanistan.

It is already unclear if the rift between Harry and his family can be healed – without the added pressure of a second memoir hanging over the Firm’s shoulders.

Prince William is said to be devastated by the light in which Harry has painted him, while the King is reportedly reconsidering his earlier desire to extend an invitation to the Sussexes for his coronation in 16 weeks time.

Harry was reportedly warned not to ‘cross the line’ by trash talking Camilla – and yet she was described in the book as a ‘villain’ who needed to ‘rehabilitate her image’.

His family have reportedly been taken aback and hurt by the level of detail he has divulged to the public about their lives.

Speaking to ITV’s News at Ten anchor Tom Bradby, Harry said he’d be open to reconciliation and even returning to a partial royal role, on the condition he could have ‘frank’ conversations with his family which would stay private.

‘I don’t know whether they’ll be watching this [interview] or not, but, what they have to say to me and what I have to say to them will be in private, and I hope it can stay that way,’ he said, noting he doesn’t want ‘frank discussions [to] leak out’.

The comments have been labelled ironic given all the private moments Harry has shared in his memoir.

A royal source told The Mirror: ‘The irony is there for all to see, apart from Harry himself it seems.

‘There was very little [trust] before these latest scenes, but there is no trust left at all for Harry to be brought into the fold.’

It’s understood the Royal Family are unlikely to comment publicly on any of the allegations levelled against them.

But even discussing matters privately may be off the table for high-ranking royals who fear any conversations held with Harry could be used against them in the future.

Harry told The Late Show that he and Meghan were ‘forced’ to flee ‘our home country’ of Britain for ‘beautiful California’ because of ‘abuse and harassment’.

He then said: ‘We have created a fantastic life here in California, which by the way is beautiful, and America is a great place to live,’ before clinking glasses with Colbert.

This is a developing story. More to come
